    Emblem Removal

Does the Caddy emblem on the back of the wagon have those stupid centering pins, or can I remove the logo without issue?

No pins, just tape. Dental floss then WD-40 or Naptha works good if you've never done it.

Beware to sedan owners reading this and thinking about removing it; you will have to fill a pair of holes and repaint the rear deck.

    Re: Emblem Removal

Yeah, I may have misread this. I only removed the CTS and V emblems and NOT the Cadillac one. Thanks for the update Smoke......

Yep, Just found out the hard way that the Wagon has holes too. Probably just going to stick the center part back on until the 2015 emblem is avalible.

Smoke, this is for the Cadillac emblem right. the CTS and V emblems are just 3M tape right?

The C T S letters are just tape. I cannot comment on the V's...I kept those. On the rear, the chrome wreath around the Caddy shield is tape. The shield itself has 2 pins, though.

    Re: Emblem Removal

Can anybody give me a run down on all the exterior lettering and badges that can be removed without needing to fill any holes?
I really prefer the cleanest de-badged look possible.

I took off all 3 V badges and the CTS emblem on the left side of the trunk. all 4 emblems are all tape. I left the Cadillac emblems on the trunk and grille so can't comment on those.

I also have a black diamond and want to remove what badges I can. Question: does the paint (which I assume is black diamond) show any trace of the original badge/tape or is it pristine?

you can get GM parts on eBay. I always check because most dealers will price match as long as you can show them the part number. I can give you some numbers..is it just the V badge you wanted?

the lowest you will get a new "V" emblem is about $71. (there are plenty that are $3-$35 but none are OEM)

the "CTS" is way less than that and you can get those for around $15-$20.

The actual wreath and crest are different from the trunk to the grill and most of those the best price is around $45-$55

those are very good prices on GM badges. if you don't care if they're GM OEM, then you can get everything listed above for probably $35. your call there. hope this helps a little

I've removed a ton of badges in my day, and personally the best way I've come across debadging is to use monofilament fishing line(anywhere from 6-12lb test) and just kinda massage it down from N to S. if you want, you can put masking tape around the edges of the badges to make sure you don't scratch the paint.

after you get the badge off, use some rubbing alcohol or goo-gone/label sticker removal and wipe clean. I recommend waxing that spot after as well.
