would you be willing to replicate it so its more plug and play for us less-handy / lazy peeps?

i have the i5 and think thats great! awesome job mann!!!!
At this point in time, no. I'm sure I could reproduce the mod in a more time effective manner, but the price and availability of a dash panel (without electrical components) that matches your trim colors makes the cost of doing this for others a bit much. With that, you'd still have to unscrew the controls from the back of your panel and attach them to the modified one. Also, you'd have to be handy enough to disassemble your center console to run the cable from the dock back to the stock location under the armrest. This also requires cutting a neat/tidy hole. With all this involved, it's not very plug and play either.

You can find used control panels on the web (with electrical components attached) but the average cost is $600 + and I've never seen one for a V. A few buttons differ from Base CTS vs. V. Also, you never know what you'll get condition wise going used. I didn't even bother looking into the cost of a new one.

There is the option of using your own dash, but you'd still have to take apart your interior and garage the car for a month or so while work is being done. You also have to live with the fact that you can't go back to stock.

That is pretty slick. I think you should patent that and send it to GM. Only thing is the new models all have the cue which would kill your design. Only thing that would make this better is if GM some how had the clock where the phone adapter is... That way you could have nav in your line of sight. Great Job though. I had that my iphone is in the arm rest. Especially when you get that text with that short ass cord they give you.

Gotta take this to jr's in Dallas. I wanna be able to have this option. This is just so pimp... I've got the nav, I just get so damn tired of yanking my phone out of the arm rest. Why didn't gmail think of this. They know damn well that everyone has the iphone or at least make it fit any phone with options. Could be a safety issue.

^minimize risk. Just like how newer nav systems won't let you enter a POI or destination without fully stopping the car.
