I'm thinking of Black chroming the lower grill of my V. Has anyone used the Dupli color stuff, or suggest a better product. Suggestions, photos appreciated.

    Re: Black Chrome Grill

Here's an animated gif I made with a couple pictures I took of two black CTS-V sedans, one with the black chrome grilles and one with the stock chrome ones.

If you just want to black out the grilles, you can use plastidip. That's what I did, and the results are pretty awesome. But it's matte black, not chrome. I think the matte black looks better anyway though.

I have a black sedan so I want to break it up a bit. The animation looks good to me. Just have to figure out the best way to do it.

how is that holding up? i was thinking of doing the same to mine, but didnt know it i would run into any problems as far as needing touch ups or having to remove it. looks to be tedious work if so. Thanks

Plasti dip comes off like tape if you use goo gone. I've dipped the grills on two other cars. It's pretty great.

Also holds up quite well with rock chips and the like.

    Re: Black Chrome Grill

i'm always worried about plasti dipping the grills and then when I was the car, have the plasti dip coming off in the mitt and messing with the rest of my car and contaminating my mitts.
