hehe, Cbloveday hooked me up with the gm polish a long time ago. It works great as a light polish and cover but it doesnt actually take most of the scratches off but covers them up. Not bad for 35k miles on the clock. My secret recipe is a three step deal...

    1. CD scratch remover ( lol )
    2. Menzerna polish ( med cut )
    3. Menzerna polish ( light cut )

I have the polish #'s at home as I used them with great results to remove " holograms " off my black V but with tinkering found a great combination to permenantly remove those obnoxious 'half-deep" scratches. Like the one around the volume & tune knob you get after thousands of miles =)

    Raz,

I would be interested in those polish numbers. I have some of those scratches around the knobs you mentioned.

The epoxy has been added to the pieces. After this cures we can start trimming and sanding the pieces smooth.

The stuff you guys have done looks great, have you ever done a matte finish instead of gloss? Is that something you are capable of? Here is an example of what I am talking about: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=336501 I appologize for a bmw forum link.

A quick web search for matte carbon fiber should turn up similar products.

If it can be done it is something I would definitely be interested in doing.

The stuff you linked to is a fake carbon fiber vinyl sticker type deal. We use real carbon fiber.

However, we can clearcoat our pieces in a matte clear instead of a gloss clear, which should get you the look you're interested in.

We grind down the original pieces to make room for the added thickness of the fabric and epoxy. Every now and then a piece here or there won't fit correctly for whatever reason and we always replace/repair it.

There were no fit issues on the first set we made, so I don't anticipate there being any fit issues in the future:

I figured it was, but glad to hear you can do it. I know you haven't finalized cost but would it be extra for that kind of finish?

No, a matte clear would be the same cost as a gloss clear.

Here are some pictures of another CTS-V set we just started in a more traditional black 2x2 twill fabric. It is the classic carbon fiber look that everyone knows and loves.
