so I'm just finding out that AWD cars aren't exactly suitable with staggered wheels, which the CTS-V wheels are - so I might just be out of the running. What are the odds a dealer will sell me (4) front CTS-V wheels? Not good? yeah i didn't think so...

That's pretty funny. My AWD loves him some stagger...

It's often argued on the Audi forums too. As long as the diameters (not widths) are relatively close, it has not done any of the horrible things the naysayers say it will.
YES, it will handle slightly different. The extra rear grip will make the rear lazy. That's why we practice car control.
NO, it will not destroy the Haldex (AWD control box in some Audis), there are literally hundreds of AWD cars out there running staggered offsets (Scoobys, Mitsus, Audis, etc.)

haha yes! so there's still hope. I saw on Ebay a set of these wheels sold for 1200 about 10 days ago...for that price I could just buy two sets and use the fronts - then resell the rears for ppl who want better snow tires on their CTSVs for the winter. Easier said than done though cause finding one set has been hard enough

I wouldn't bank on that. The V owners really need 4 tires for winter, not just the rears. The stock tires are summer only and even the fronts get real slick when driving below freezing. I would highly doubt any V owner would just buy the rears.

Just go to a dealer and order them. I think they list for 650 each or something. Just order 4 fronts.

Regarding my car, we have the Brembo brakes to deal with. I doubt a 17 or even and 18" wheel will fit over them.

You could check with John Hennessey or Dave Golder. A vendor on here. They've got several Vs and always swap out the wheels.

Shoot one of them a pm.

Just remember, 5 bolt pattern on 2009 V2's, won't work with earlier unless you change hubs.

There are some on Ebay right now. They are painted 2009's that were take-offs.

If you do a search in the Motors section, they should come up.

I don't know if links are appropriate here, so I didn't link them.

    Good Luck!
