    Outstanding! Thanks!

Looks pretty close to how I imagined it would, and I appreciate your efforts.

Any others you can do would be equally appreciated, as here I sit, still waiting for the car to get to the dealer's lot. It's still in transit from GM. I was hoping it would get here this week so I could flash up there and get it, as I leave to go out of town next week for a while. Hell, I may not be able to get it until May if it doesn't get there soon...

Here's a black one. I'll bet the car would look Absolutely SICK with the side and front grilles done in black chrome too on a black car.

Black chrome cannot be fully appreciated until you see it in person, and also seen in various shades of light/sunlight. Once done, the inconvenience of having to pay shipping and wait 2, 3 or more weeks to drive you V will be worth it.
I am going to assume the new Vs have the same craplastic grill frames as the V1, as if the case, you will have to be very good to get the black chrome to look consistent with the grills and frames.
,,, those V2 wheels in the black chrome on this thread are the !!!

Can I ask why that would be?

The chrome on plastic looks the same as chrome on aluminum or metal. I'd guess the process is the same, regardless of the material. The prep might be different, but the finishing process is the same (at least I'd think so).
Do they have to strip the old stuff off first or just plate over it?

I'm not trying to start an argument, just trying to learn something.

    Thanks!

^ black chrome usually looks the same as long as its plated by the same company. What makes the difference is usually the shape of object being plated and the way it reflects light. The oem wheels look terriffic because of the numerous spokes and angles. If it was a more curvy and simple rim design it wouldn't look nearly as cool

I dont think you can Chrome Plastic?? I thought it needs to be magnetized or something like that.

I would think its impossible to match because you can powdercoat, or Chrome the wheels, but would have to Paint the Grill, etc. to match.

If you wanted to Paint your wheels, or powdercoat them with a simple color, you could prob come pretty close to painting everything else to match.

    I think.

    Re: Black Chrome'd V2 Wheels....

The aftermarket guy at my dealer said the trim and grill pieces are metalized plastic--so while they can be black-chromed, he suspects that the finish wouldn't be as durable as the stock finish and would have to be redone every now and then.

Razor......the wheels look great! You going to take your little GM fender badges off? I did the day I brought mine home, same with my 06 too. They just seem out of place and a little on the tacky side to me. I used the dental floss trick behind the badge and sawed back and forth. Off in a jiffy Dick
