Took my V to the local Cadillac dealer for the fall service before I put it away for the winter. had a 9am appointment, bring it in right away, check wheel alingment, and I have to tell them not to touch it, goes back into the bowels of the shop. So an hor later I see it outside in the lineup again , "oh we have to change the oil yet". I tell them NOT to wash. 2 hours later I get it back. get the paperwork, and she says we did this.this.this and rotate tires, well this enough to make me snap. I go and check and they didn t, unreal, 3 hours to get an oil change. will never return. I USED to buy parts and things at this dealer, will never see me again
just my rant for todaty
Well if they are busy or maybe some body called in sick or was late to work or another repair went longer due to a problem..want fast oil change go to Jiffy Lube. Ypu cab bring your own oil and filter to them and you are in and out in 30 minutres....
Oh, you said "fall service". that sounds like more than an oil change. I assume they thought they were doing more, and it was waiting for a tech to perform other services?
Not to sound insulting, but an oil change is pretty basic stuff. Why not just do it yourself?
the service included checking lights and all the regular things. I just thought when one has the oppurtunity to take advantage of the free oil and lube for the length of the warranty, i would try it, i guess i should have just bought the oil and changed myself like i have for many years, and have it done in 30 minutes or less. oh well nothing is free, as we all know.

Re: V serviced all bad
Ya, that's kind of typical for a dealer to take that long, like was said they get short handed, backed up with cars and a free oil change is low priority for them. Be careful with a lot of quick lubes, as simple as an oil change sounds there are a lot of things that can be done wrong when a 19 year old not so well trained kid gets under your car, I should know I use to own quick lubes, but I was a owner operator so I kept a real close eye on things, not so though with all shops a lot of them are absentee owners.
Key word in all this is......"free." You get what you pay for.
I buy my oil and filter whenever I am at the store....when I decide to change my oil I do it at home and it takes me 20 minutes, including cleanup...and I know that it was done right with the right oil and filter. "Free Service" has never interested me. Nothing is free.
Not everyone has the luxury of a lighted garage, though.....but I am more likely to go to Jiffy lube for an oil change if I was going to have someone else do it.
