I went ahead and did it for an upcoming track session and was happy with the results. It peels off like Plastidip too. It actually gives an orange peel texture. All you need is the spray can, for $25, and not the other things really. You can put it where you want it too, as opposed to having a sheet of covering to deal with. It says it will last up to a year too. I'll report back after some rain and track use too.
I coated the front bumper/grill area back to the wheel wells. Not affected by rain and bugs are easily removed. The full kit makes masking and application easier. Buy some extra tape because our grill/light configuration takes a lot of masking. See the Youtube videos before proceeding. It's not as easy as it looks to apply in the recommended pattern because the surface in the bumper region is complex, not flat and is vertical. The demo is an application to the hood. Don't apply enough and you may not be able to remove it - too much and it will run. My problem was the latter and I was horrified. That said it is very forgiving. Don't panic. Go through the curing process as directed. Two days in dry weather with sun exposure - maybe four in humid conditions. It cures very shiny and most flaws including runs seem to disappear. Unfortunately, I just had to point out a defect to my wife who then noticed others. I have yet to have any other negative comments. You'll spend most of your time masking and be sure to remove the tape immediately after application. You'll have to wait a few days to drive and see the results. They under estimate the coverage area per can so you won't run out. I'm going to use what's left on the rocker panels. I don't collect bugs on the hood and chrome protects the edge so I'll leave it untreated. I'm satisfied. Just hope it can actually be removed.
I used this on my rear lower bumper to try out since with the 305 DR's it throws stuff up. It works great but then I thought I try and take it off. It didnt peel off like pasti dip. I had to use a cleaner and bust my ass to get it all off. I don't think I put it on thick enough. I sprayed some real good coats too.
I'm going to try a smaller section and coat it even more.
I use the plastidip before in the same spot when using the DR's and the only issue is I have a black patch which looks funny but peels right off. When I get around to it ill try the clear stuff on the daily driver and coat it real well. Then see if it peels off.
