Removing airbag warning stickers from visors

There was a thread on this but no info so I looked on the internet and found some. Below are the steps I followed to remove mine. I have included pictures. There is only a small difference in color that will hopefully even out over time.

    What you will need:
    Cut up white t-shirt/microfiber cloth
    Pliers
    Towel
    Blow dryer &extension cord
Nail brush (used my wife's, have to get her a new one) or something similar
Motsenbockers Lift Off (Home Depot) or another solvent that will break up glue without damaging fabric

    1. Heat one end of the sticker using med/high setting on dryer until you can get hold of one corner of the sticker. Using pliers to hold loose end of the sticker, slowly pull back as you heat the sticker from the back side (printed side). Be real careful not pull too fast or you will have more glue to clean off later.
    2. After you finish removing the first sticker, move to the other while the first is cooling.
    3. Move back to the first. You will need to have tshirt/microfiber cloth, towel, blow dryer, nail brush, and lift off spray within reach.
    4. Cover dash and your lap with towel to catch any mess.
    5. Spray areas of visor that have resiual glue until they are wet but not dripping. Wait a full minute before beginning to rub with cloth. Use brush on thicker parts. The fabric covering the visor is fairly sturdy but don't use too much pressure! Repeat as necessary on tough areas.
    6. Now dry the visor with low/med heat and rub with cloth. I was able to get the last remnants of glue as they turned to little white balls when heated.
    7. Repeat steps 5 & 6 on other visor.

    I hope this is helpful!

I like the stickers that say something else clever but most are tacky - something like a picture of a bra and I loose clothing.

Wouldn"t it be easier and less messy if you remove the visor from the car?

Nice job. It's not for me though. I can also still see the mark left on the fabric. Maybe that will fade with time but to me, I prefer the sticker to the mark left by it.

flatrockguy - No it wasn't very hard or messy. I was pretty comfortable sitting in my Recaro's and listening to the stereo. Only took about 20 minutes each.

Would anyone happen to have a step by step on how to remove the passenger visor.. I'm not seeing any screw holes just a round flat plastic disc holding it up Into the headliner??

I have not looked at my V but I did change the visor on my vette that had a similar ring. I removed my driver side visor on my vette to add a HomeLink visor. I needed to rotate the visor all the way to the window then turn that plastic disc which should have a slot in it with a large flat blade. Not saying the V is exactly the same but your description sounds like it is similar. I was very careful and still wound up nicking the plastic ring. Luckily is was like a 25 dollar part and easily replaced.

I tried searching for the Vette one... It does look similar but more of a twist out pop in. I think the cts-v one has a similar cap but with screws underneath from the photos I have seen floating around..The cap looks like its made to pop off?? I'm not going to fool with it til I know more.. I wish there was a PDF service manual floating around..
