CTS V Registry Configuration (not for data)

There was some discussion in another thread about setting up a new V registry.

    http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/2009-cadillac-cts-v-general-discussion/263320-obtaining-production-number-2011-cts-v.html

There used to be one maintained at:

    http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/reg/

But I believe that site has not been maintained for a while.

I would like to suggest we put a new one together, my question is what data do you want to collect ?

Do you want just vehicle data ?
    How about enhancements ?
Performance Data (HP, 0-60, best time around a specific track) ? etc
How about contact information (Owner, email, phone) ? etc

Please reply to this thread with just the ideas for what data to store, not the actual data. As soon as we have this all set up, we can enter the data right into the registry.

don't need anything fancy like performance detail.

simple production month/year and options spec'd is enough.

I like the idea of contact info, but as an optional entry only.

Don't most registries include the VIN? Possibly make the VIN optional for people paranoid about that being out there but require at least input of the major options like body style, color and transmission with other things being optional to input? That's my thought. Obviously others that have posted would like to see much more. Color is even kind of a reach for me to care whether it is included or not.

There is actually a registry of owners on the CadillacRace webpage for those that wish to sign up.

CadillacRace.com strives to create motorsport and social events for Cadillac Owners and everyone is welcome to sign up directly http://visitor.r20.constantcontact.com/manage/optin/ea?v=001_Sihum3TrbP8LYbJJwMWlzSBsod0M-5JJcS11OCo4YwpFBTf8qkDRBp-hagY6PK8no1Psm6Znwk%3D"]here[/URL]

    Year:
    Type:
    Last 6 of VIN:
    Black Diamond Edition:
    Color:
    Transmission:
    Wheels:
    Seats:
    Roof:
    Wood Interior:
    Alcantra:

I want to see color included so one day we might be able to determine exactly how many cars identical to our own were manufactured. I say last 6 of VIN as that will show sequence and we might run into someone who's car was made right before or after hours. I advise against the entire VIN for those paranoid folks. There is at least one check digit in the VIN that will be different so no one need worry about someone running their VIN to determine where they live. I have big, nasty dogs and bigger guns so no worries about that from me

    Mike02z,
Love your final sentence! Here in Canada there are those of us who also have big nasty dogs, bigger guns and lots of hungry polar bears this time of year!

Re: CTS V Registry Configuration (not for data)

I'll work on this over the weekend, and put something together. I'm thinking dead simple at this point, a form for entering data, and a spreadsheet for the results. We can take it from there.
