I put a borla exhaust on my 2012 cts-v coupe. Every time I go over a bump and sometimes when I come to a stop the car makes thud sound. I have taken it back once and still is making sound. Any one have this problem?
I have heard of rattles but never a thud or load noise from the exhaust install. If you dont find any answers call Debbie 423 979 4015. She has helped me in the pass with issues on the Borla exhausts. You will need a part # when you call.
I have a 2012 CTS-V Sedan with Borla "Sport"since January'12. This exhaust is is definitely as Borla described it to me"aggressive yet refined" It was installed by my dealer at apx 500miles. They did a perfect job of install and get nothing but positive commentsfrom admirers even from our rival brand owners constantly. To answer yourquestion, I recommend check into your install that's where I believe your issueis originating. Maybe have a dealer check it. Once you get it corrected you'lllove it !
Forgot to answer bufflex's question... I do not get any drone and when other CTS-V owners have asked to drive my car(sedan) they said the same. They ended up buying the Borla shortly after.
I was just speaking to Borla re my 12' Escalade and am ordering Borla for that as well. Borla is just so much nicer looking and sound than the ugly exhaust that Cadillac puts on the Escalades (especially from the profile).
BTW the 12' Premium Escalade with the dual exhaust bumper cover looks ok from a far but a close study of it underneath and through the rear fascia openings is really cheaply done and eliminates spare. Not a good attempt Cadillac... needs to be better for the famous Escalade! Im ordering Borla for my Lux ESV today.

I had Borlas on my 1991 ZR-1, and found that it scraped over speed bumps, driveway entrances, etc. Put it on a rack, and found out why. The 'U' clamps used to install it all had the nuts facing down, and were pretty much either bent or ground off. I cut ALL of them off one-by-one and replaced them. When I put the new ones on, I turned them so the nuts were up, or at least sideways. That solved my clearance problem.
That was a long time ago, so I don't know if Borla is still the same type of clamps, but it may be worth a look...

I'm interested in the Borla for my '12 V Sedan. The tone & noise I'd ideally like to achieve is one that's similar to the N/A 6.3 AMGs. They have a nice gutteral, bass sound but they're not oboxiously loud or redneck.
Speaking of redneck, I had a Borla on my '94 Z28 Camaro. It was loud. I don't want loud...just powerful sounding. And NO droning on the freeway.
Anyone have feedback how this system compares to an AMG 63 vehicle, sound & tone wise?
