I was thinking of blacking out my grill (original I know) and I was curious to know how you guys got behind the grill to protect the radiator. I've seen pics of people disassembling the whole front end and I'm really not interested in going through THAT much trouble. Any advice is appreciated.
When you open up the hood you can remove the plastic shroud that covers the area leading down behind the grill. The space is large enough to fit plastic grocery bags between using a wooden dowl or yardstick. You can also push them in from the grill as well, just spread them around by using a large blade screw driver through the grill spaces. Make sure before you spray none of the bags are touching any portion of the grill. Take your time and move them to cover the radiators and other components. Allow plasti dip to cure good before pulling up the bags through the top opening where you removed the shroud. I used a straighten coat hanger with a small curve to the tip to hook the bags and pull them up and out.
Took me longer to prep and remove the bags than it did to spray it. Good luck!
Thanks. I took the shroud that you mentioned last weekend but I wasn't too confident that I could get bags in the small opening......much less get them back out lol. I'll probably try again this weekend.
