    Wheel scratches

Guys, can these scratches be sanded out by an average DIY guy or will it end up looking worse?

If you spend enough time, a DIY can get them looking pretty good. But you will need some clear coat after. It is all about patience and small changes in grit.

Ok, I'll give it a shot. I've seen some videos on how to do this but most of them involved sanding and repainting so I wasn't sure how to handle the polished look.

If not painting, you have to go from wet sandpaper to various grit polishes/compounds until you get it polished enough. Paint will cover very minor imperfections that you would see if sticking with polish.
