Okay I've finally done it. lots of research and testing/trouble shooting. so here it is;

*list of parts you need:
GNTX-657 (the mirror I used, keeps it OEM with onstar)
2 inter connects gm part#175265-1 I got them from:
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail...oductDetail/TE-Connectivity-AMP/175265-1/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvvAo%2bip5liN80oxFE3h5Jy
camera- I used Baretta USA BU-CP-TLP and got it at
https://www.sonicelectronix.com/account.php?action=view_order&id=1457851
misc but connectors if neccassary

*first I took the old camera off
Image

*I then ran all the wires from the trunk forward
Image

I left enough room for the power wire to plug in where the camera will be as well as the video cable, ran them down through that group of wires through that mesh thing you can see in the picture.
the power wire in ran into the battery compartment and left hanging for now. The video cable i ran across the top of the trunk from the passenger side to the drivers side. I pulled the carpet back on the drivers side. pushed the wire up as close to the back seat as possible from in the trunk
Image

went in the back drivers side door and pushed the seat aside a little and reached for the video wire, here is a pic of the space to reach in by the back seat driver side

then i ran it under the trim pieces all the way up front
Image

Image

after that i ran it up the a pillar just pushing it between the weather seal and the a pillar

Image

across the headliner just pushing up and behind
and up to the mirror

Image

*now for the wiring
I started with the mirror. you will need to crimp the +/- from the video with the inter connects
put the + in pin number 6 and - in pin number 7
Image

when you push them in you can plug the harness in the camera and tighten it up
Image

now thats all done move back to the trunk, the reason i ran the power down into the battery door is thats the easiest for the +/-. i took a quick connect and tied the + in to the light green wire in the group of wires behind the battery as it is the reverse light power

now the - I put a connector on the - and grounded to the ground on the body where the battery is grounded
Image

the last part is mounting the camera. i have one that attaches to license plate lights as theres to much shit to drill through for a flush mount camer.
now get in start your car, put it in reverse, and check

if you have any questions I will do my best to help

Great write up. I want to do this on my 2011...

Do you guys happen to know if the mirror and wiring is the same 2008-12?? I am speaking to the seller on ebay he seems to think there are different mirrors and wiring in the 08-10's as opposed to the 2011-12's

Also bojangle do you have pictures of what the camera looks like insalled at the rear?

Thanks

i had to get a different style camera, once it comes in i will update the post

----------

i intially got the idea from a 2011 cts, from what i know the wiring is the same. all you have to run is the video wires and the power wires for the camera, thats it. i found where they go which was the hardest part. with that out of the way you guys should have this in no time

Nick, appreciate the write up, looking forward to doing this to my 2011 as well.

MTL...have you been talking to Bob (think that's his name) on eBay? Chatted with him and ge seemed to think all you needed to do on a 2011 is install mirror, camera and run video wires. Said rest is there if you have auto dimming mirror function.

I'm working on doing this on my XLR-V. Do you have pictures of the mirror mount. Mine is kind of a triangular shape with groves. I believe this is similar to a C6 Corvette. I think I can figure out the wiring of the mounts are compatible. Any problem with the size of the display?

I can't get the interconnects into the mirror's harness. Is there a certain way to put them in? I have the exact same mirror, and bought the GM interconnects from the link you posted, however when I try to put them into pin #6 and #7 it seems forced. After finally getting them in, the cable won't click into the mirror. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone. I'm Steve. I have a 08 CTS. After much research I recently got a oem trunk trim w/camera out of a 11 CTS with out nav. I also got the OEM Gentex #026137 mirror out of a 11 Buick Enclave that had OEM Auto Dim, OnStar and Camera. My 08 CTS mirror has the same except camera. Other than wiring colors it's plug and play including mounting for both mirror and trunk trim. There are three wires that my OEM mirror don't have. They are pink, blue and grey. I have pigtails off both mirror and trunk trim/camera combo. Can anyone help me with where the wires that are not on the 08 OEM plugs go. I know it all connects just can't find any information on what goes where. As I said before pigtails off 11 CTS and 11 Enclave are plug and play except they have extra wires for the camera. Thanks in advance.

Why is that. I have the OEM plugs for both. Meaning the one that goes into mirror and the trunk. Both sides for the trunk. I can't solder same have wire to lengthen OEM harnesses. And connect to factory locations. Of witch I don't know where they are. Or is the conversion wiring harness you're referring to a plug-in-play. Meaning a small "pigtail" that connects to oem at mirror and in trunk so I don't have to tap into anything. Also who is Bob the mirror guy? And thank you so much for the quick response. Jayoldschool.

Jayoldschool. I found who you were referring to as Bob the mirror guy. For anyone who does know who he is. Goggle Bob's mirrors and more LLC. That is the name of his company. Or you can look him up on eBay by seller name Cooper Z71. Hope this helps everyone out. Thanks again jayoldschool I have emailed him and looking forward to hearing back from him to see if the retro fitting can be done with minimal splicing of my OEM plugs/hardnesses and wires.

Long. Will do. Just as a reference. I have done much research on my 08. 09 OnStar box with Bluetooth. No a option in 08. Full Intake (Volant). Throttle body spacer (jet performance). Intake manifold spacer (Vmax Motorsports). Ported and polished throttle body (from factory 72mm to 76mm). Ported and polished intake manifold. PVC motivation (5/64 top and 7/64 bottom). X pipe off CTS-V. Flowmaster 50 Delta flow mufflers. ECM tune by quick rev based out of Kettering oh. NOT INSTALLED but in the garage. Mase engineering dual performance Cam's and timing gears/chain complete set. She may baby and I just keep finding ways to get more out of her every day.
