Just wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to drive CTS based stationwagon as yet? I would be interested in your impressions. From the pictures, it is the only "new" car tht has even slightly interested me. |

Shit, I haven't even seen one on the road yet. How long have they been out? I've got to do a fuel injection cleaning demonstration at a Cadillac dealer next week. I'll try and grab a brochure when I'm there.

My dealer received a Black Raven '10 CTS Sport Wagon last week and I had a chance to drive it the other day. It drives just like a normal CTS, which is firm and sporty. To be honest the only way I could tell I was driving a wagon was when I looked in the review mirror. One neat feature of the Wagon is the backup camera; when coupled with the Nav, it automatically raises the Nav to the up position and when it's done puts it back down. That'll be a cool feature to impress the neighbors with.
This particular model was the Performance Luxury Collection, and stickered for right under $53k. Alot of money IMO when compared to a new SRX, though the RWD alone for some people is worth the cost. I'll put it this way: it's one of the only station wagons I'd ever want to drive. |

It has the same suspension, powertrain choices and wheelbase as the CTS sedan, therefore it drives exactly like the sedan. It feels a touch heavier (because it is), which actually improves the ride slightly. NVH is very good for a vehicle with a huge open cabin that could cause tire booming on the inside, but doesn't.
For about $3,000 more than the sedan, you get the same car with nearly double the cargo room. Pretty good deal, and definitely worth a look compared to the E wagon and Volvo.

DO WANT. |

The E-class and Volvos look so stodgy, boring, and old professorey when you park one next to the CTS. About the only thing giving the Caddy a run for its money style wise is the Audi A4 Avant, which is a smaller car.
Its too bad people in this country are still SUV/crossover/tall wagon obsessed. I bet Cadillac will sell 10 times the number of SRX wagons, even though it has the same space, gets worse gas mileage, is a guissied up Chevy Equinox, and drives like a pig in comparision. |

That's why they're selling tons more SRXs. |

its too bad too, cadillac is starting to rebuild a reputation and then they go and release a saturn crossover, with cadillac badges |

You're right- other than the wheelbase, length, width, powertrain, interior, suspension, body panels, warranty, Navigation/entertainment system, headlights, taillights and wheels- it's exactly the same. |

and yes right turn i can still see how i made that mistake:
-look at the curve on the windows, almost exactly the same, the saturn windows, are closer inspection just look taller. or it could be the SRX looks "chopped"
- the front grille and hood look very similiar. the bumpers/headlights are what makes the difference
the overall shape and styling is VERY VERY close. enough to where me and a couple of other people have confused the two vehicles.
keep in mind these are only opinions but i dont know anyone outside of these forums that actually LIKES the new SRX |

As far as I've heard, most Cadillac dealers can't keep them in stock and are selling them for MSRP or over. Doesn't sound like a flop to me. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
