I went a different route and bought the entire OEM HID headlamp set/modules off of ebay from a wrecked car and installed them. They are plug and play except the steering feature is disabled as is the day time running lamps (pulled fuse). The plugs are physically the same but missing the wiring to drive the day time running lamp function and steering feature of the headlights. Neither is important enough to worry about.

In this case, this is the best solution.
I don't know why i always think they are not plug and play...

The day time running light plug must be there.... I think.......

Maynor,

That's awesome that you were able to put the OEM headlight in. Have you taken a look around the fuse box underhood? I can take a picture of our underhood fuse box so you can see what relays and fuses we have in. I noticed ours is set up a little differently from that of a non HID vehicle.

Exclamation Re: HID Conversion Kit

Before doing a HID conversion; keep in mind that your headlight cores MUST be DOT approved for Xenon bulbs. If you look at your headlight cover; you should see a small I.D. number; and the letters DOT. The DOT indicates that the headlight is approved for use with the original bulb type; which in your case is halogen. The small I.D. number indicates what type of lighting system the core is designed for. You can find a list of these on the internet; but you should go to a site that does not sell HID conversions!

I don't think that the police typically look for this. What you do have to be carefull with is if you get in a bad accident. If this happens, and there is an investigation; they might catch you on it. This could lead to a citation; or even a reverse in liability assuming you are not at fault to begin with.

Your best bet is to by replacement OEM xenon headlight cores for your vehicle; which will be designated properly for use with that type of light. This will also help you if you have a run-in with a stingy cop trying to site you for driving with an illegal headlight conversion!

Re: HID Conversion Kit

What size bulb are the Low beams? I have the adaptive headlamps. I want to change the stock HIDs out and replace them with 6000k to match my Foglights. I already replace the fogs with 6000k HIDs.

Domasac: Did you install the HIDs yourself? Think the Deep blue is a little too much. Off topic but I like what you did with your grill.

Re: HID Conversion Kit

I don't get it. I'm reading through these posts and seeing some guys that want to blind other drivers with 55w HID kits, which is really overkill, and other guys who want to blind themselves with higher kelvin temps that might make sense to a peacock, but no human being, I don't care HOW good your vision is. 4300k HID have NO blue tint to them at all. If you want a nice, contemporary look, go with 6000k, but realize that you're getting around 300 fewer lumens hitting the road. I tried 6000k HID's in my Vette and while they look very cool and are a nice match with my corner LED's, I wasn't happy with the trade off of less light hitting the road and went back to 4300k. I'm thinking 5000k might be a sensible compromise, however.

Re: HID Conversion Kit

put enough tint on and you'll need as much light as possible just to see through the windows at night!
LOL
