I'm not a tough guy. Pushed the wrong button at the wrong time. Treated like a child, reacted like a child. Service manager was present at time of purchase to ensure this wouldn't happen. Let's also be realistic, why am I having so much trouble? Can anyone link my trans being replaced to my exhaust or intake? I have anger issues, I am well aware of that. I just hate being talked down to, obviously I wrote the abridged version of the hour plus conversation on the last post. I don't know why I feel the need to justify myself to everyone, but it adds to my serenity. |

Oh, right. BTW - I hold on to a deep-seeded resentment when someone who happens to have more years on this planet calls me son. That is the button that got pushed, the straw, the point of no return. My father died when I was young, and I would rather be called boy, punk, or ass***e. Son implies that you are superior to me and have fathered me. It sets the wrong tone for a conversation with an already angry, yet controlled, customer. That point I ost control and set fire to every bridge home.
I am banned from the dealership, but called to speak to the owner and apologize for my outburst and poor conduct the next morning. He promised I would not be blacklisted in the computer.
Don't really care, threw the car up on a floor jack and plugged in the reverse switch. Problem fixed. Cleared codes with a SnapOn Slus, problem solved. OnStar still works, just so happens the light is red. Car is good for now. Will return the intake to stock if future problems arise. |

The CTS is a great car and is worth getting through these travails. I had a period with our '04 SRX and it was (fortunately) brief - despite its intensity. During that period, I swore I would drive Acura and Lexus from then on. Now, here I am with two new Cadillacs...
And, BTW, it takes a big man to call and apologize. I, for one, am impressed. |

For what it is worth... I can only imagine what you went through to get your trans replaced. Cadillac is just not set up to help customers who have complex problems. When you buy a new car from a super premium brand you expect much better support and its just not there. Quote:

All that sucks dude. It's the one of the reasons someone coined the term Mod Hell. You're actually a good example for others who are considering purchasing aftermarket mods or add ons for their car. If the parts and work are not done by the dealership they can use it as an excuse to deny warranty work related around the changed part. That part may or may not have anything to do with your problem, but they have the right to deny work around it. You either have to find a dealership willing to do that or replace the OEM parts back on to the car before giving it to the dealership to have work done. The suck thing is once they see Modded parts on the car they know things have been done to it. Mods are cool but they can become a pain when it's time for something to be handled under warranty, depending upon dealership. Plus with GM getting strapped for cash the restrictions will only get worse.

And seriously, find a new dealership to work with.

Today's society seems to want to forgive for loss of control. Each is responsible for his/her actions. If the cops were called, the OP is an idiot... | Forgiveness is correct (I don't mean political correctness either), and so is accepting responsibility for our actions. Lewis |
