I've been lurking on here for a few days and have been quite impressed with the knowledge of many of you on this forum. In all honesty, I'm new to the Cadillac arena...any good advice is welcomed. I'm leaning toward ~ Colors: Thunder Gray or Radiant Silver; Automatic transmission w/AWD. I want the car fully loaded, although I'm having trouble figuring out what that really looks like with all the various options packages. Specifically, is the remote starting feature included on every model or is it an option? Also, if I decide to go with the competition package, is the nav available? Thanks in advance. Jim

for a fully loaded CTS you are looking at around $50,000 or so. I actually have an 08 CTS and my father recently purchased an 09 CTS. in the choice of colors, one of my favorite colors on this car is actually the Thunder Grey. not sure if you are aware, but the Thunder Grey is an extra $995 since it's a premium color. i think paying the little bit of extra money is very much worth it. my car is not fully loaded, i have the sport suspension (FE2), ultraview moonroof, navigation and seating package and i absolutely love my car. now my dad has one that has every option in it and he loves his car too. i think whatever you choose is going to make you a very happy man! if you need anymore help with anything, don't hesitate to ask! |

I try to be flexible when shopping so I can take advantage of what is locally available. I can personally vouch for the beauty of Thunder Gray Cromaflair with Black Leather interior. I love it!
Interesting site that explains the technology http://www.cadillac-chromaflair.com/
This link will help you better understand the options. It can be a little confusing: http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/dmdindex.htm
After year is selected, select Cadillac logo, then "print book", then "print model". This will provide you with every detail you can imagine in a PDF format. As you have more questions just let us know.
FYI- Just be aware the latest trend with car manufacturers is mid-year price increases. In 2008 there were at least 3 price changes on the CTS. Don't assume the car companies aren't raising prices even with a slow economy. Their costs are going up and will often reduce production and sneak in price increases so they can show big discounts. I just saw BMW was raising their prices January 1st. |

Well, the deed is done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The trigger has been pulled and all I can say is Merry Christmas! We just got home from the dealership in our new 2009 Thunder Gray CTS w/Ebony Interior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe I did it ~ pardon the excitement but I kinda get that way when I buy a new car. Basically, she is loaded ~ the only option we did not get was the AWD...but I found the perfect combination at a local dealership with 99% of the options we wanted and couldn't beat the price! Even has the remote start feature when will come in handy this time of year (ice/snow). Tell me I did okay; MSRP: 48950.00 Red Tag Discount: 45302.00 Cash Rebate: 43302.00. Here's a brief rundown ~ if the weather breaks tomorrow, I'll try to take/post some pics.
- DI 3.6L 304 HP, RWD
- 6 SPD Automatic
- 18" Painted Aluminum Wheels/all season Tire Performance package
- Heated windshield washer fluid
- All-Speed Traction Control
- Premium Collection
- Ultraview Sunroof
- Limited Slip Sport Suspension System
- Luxury Level one and two package
- Remote Start feature
What an awesome car! This car drives like a dream...and the fit/finish are second to none. Again, I would like to wish all of you Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays ~ let the good times roll.

Add another 8.9% sales tax. Guys and their cars ~ I'm just about to turn 54 years young and given my level of excitement right now, my wife tells me I'm acting like I'm some 20 year old....hell, maybe I'll get lucky twice in one day! Okay, back to the owners manual ~ I'll touch base tomorrow after I have a chance to program the vehicle and do a little more exploring of all the neat bells and whistles. |
