I thought I saw a thread on this an can't seem to be able to find it that stated that with awd, need a different design. It's getting that time of year in Michigan where we are thinking about these types of items. |

I bought inexpensive fabric mats last winter at "Benny's" & cut the passenger side to fit the AWD. (It had several rubber trim margins) You would be surprised to see how good they look, even if they last 1 to 2 winters, who cares, trash them & buy another inexpensive set! Works for me. |

They are made by Goodyear. They are rubber and carpet. I think they were going for 40.00 or 50.00 don't remember. |

They fit as well as anything could except that the rear doesn't go up over the hump. I got the tan color which goes fine with the cashmere interior. I wanted most of all something that would fit clear to the edges and not let the water or anything else get to the carpet. This way when spring comes, out with the floor liners and back in with my regular floor mats.
By the way, the floor liners are different from the floor mats. The floor liners are made to fit exactly for the particular model of car. One of the problems is that they only make them for the AWD and not the RWD. Maybe this will change in the near future. |

On the vehicle I traded in, I never even had the chance to enjoy the soft carpet my self. I also wear dress shoes for work so the backs would tend to get scuffed.
So...rather than save the carpeted mats for the next owner I decided to just enjoy them myself! After all, they are mats, so the carpet is protected. In addition, replacing the carpeted mats or all weather mats costs about the same. So I may just replace with newer versions at 75,000 miles allowing me to always have nice plush carpeting.
What pushed me over the edge? The factory mats could be described as carpeted all weather types as they have a decent sized lip all the way around.
From what I can tell you have three levels of protection based on your needs:
- Factory mats
- Factory all weather mats
- Weathertech liners
I don't think one choice is better than the other. If I worked in the construction industry, I would get the liners. If I didn't normally wear a suit and my car wasn't stored in the garage, I would get the factory all weather mats. Otherwise, the carpeted mats will probably suffice. |

I have the standard Weathertech's on my RWD, the floor liners are so much better, the top of the line, any line for that matter. |

So far they've stayed fairly clean and look great. But then again they won't ever see snow or mud.
If they made them for the CTS, Nifty Catch-All mats would be perfect. They're custom all-weather carpet mats with a rubber backing. If they get dirty enough, you can just pull them out, hose them off, dry, and you're done. I had them in my Yukon and were much nicer than the previous rubber mats I had (ie. Weathertech).
Maybe if we all e-mail them they'll make some for the CTS. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
