Does anyone know the GM part number for the 2008 CTS spare tire?

The GM part number for the 2008 CTS Spare Tire Kit is 19179359.

The number comes from the GM packaging label on the kit I purchased through the Parts Department. Interestingly, the Installation Instruction Sheet shows the part number as 19179360.

NOTE: Not included in the kit is item #15 - GM part number 25744730 - wheel stow strap. You have to order it separately. Also, I couldn't identify item #11 - maybe someone more knowledgeable can provide it's identity.

#11 is a sound deadener. we sell the kit for $215.00 plus shipping if anyone needs one.

That is not serviced by GM. I suppose you could just use some generic sound insulation material cut to fit if you had to replace it.

Does it matter what size wheels one might have, 17" or 18"? One size spare fits all? Just curious.

Can someone tell me if the wheel that comes with this kit is 17" or 18"?

Luke, do you know where the sound deadener goes. I have the spare tire option but I don't see anything that I would describe as a sound deadener.

FWIW, I bought the spare tire kit and it did come with the wheel strap. I ordered 25744730 (wheel strap) as well and so have two of them. No big deal, just thought I'd save others the expense.

Also, the spare tire kit comes unassembled - meaning that you have to install the valve stem and mount the tire to the wheel. Maybe it was just the shop I took it to, but they had a hard time with the small size and shape of the wheel and scratched it pretty good when they mounted it.

I was surprised that the tire / wheel / stem are all made in China.
