Aux Video Input!!!!!!

Who is going to figure out how to get an auxilliary video input for the CTS nav????? I want a backup camera! I am trying to figure out from my Alpine distributor, if there is a way. Anybody else have anything on this???

The firmware for the camera is already in the unit its just turned off. The CTC has the backup camera in it, just a matter of finding the switch in the software which I'm working on. Worst case wait and upgrade the firmware to the 09/10 version if the hardware doenst changet too much.

so You guys know there is another option available for 08 CTS --> TV Tuner. just ordered for a customer. I think GM is out of their mind. paid $1300 for it, and not even include antenna. and with that tuner is an option for audio/video AUX input

So with that said, all I need to do is find the pinouts for the aux video in and find a way to triger from the reverse light power wire?

I work a bit with the guys at Alpine and asked them specifically about this. They told me that originally it was going to have RCA inputs, however the feature was axed and they decided not to populate the board with the RCA components. I'm currently working on a solution that involves connecting directly to the Monitor using the GVIF input. I found a VGA/RCA to GVIF converter, but no luck so far... it may not compatible with the CTS' GVIF...

Anyone out there an expert at GVIF??????? ANYONE?!!??

I would love a backup camera also but really, I have to ask, if it was that important to you why did you buy this car. You could have spent $6000.00 less on an Infiniti G and gotten a camera with it. There are so many great things about this car and you knew when you bought it that no camera was in it. Anyway, not picking on anyone, just my thoughts.

I like to customize. I modify for two reasons:

1 - No car is perfect from the factory. Every manufacturer compromises at some point (i.e. - exhaust systems)

2 - Do you want someone else in the world to have the same EXACT car as you do???

I would pay $250 for the backup camera provision.
