Maybe because the infiniti is an ugly piece of shit. Not picking on anyone, just my thoughts.

Re: Aux Video Input!!!!!!

Count me in as well. I hate to bring up bluetooth AGAIN but it along with a rear view camera are features I'd like to have but definitely wasn't a deal-breaker for me. I'm happy with my CTS and glad I purchases when I did.

Re: Aux Video Input!!!!!!

Just a curiosity. Let's say you put the car in reverse, but your nav screen is down. Would the ideal solution automatically raise the screen to look at the backup camera? I think I'd rather choose when the screen comes up. i.e. if the screen is down and I put it in reverse, I'd like to hit the screen raise button to see out the back.

Re: Aux Video Input!!!!!!

So how much does a camera cost and where is the best place to mount it (the camera)? Will a hole have to be drilled in the rear bumper?

I found a VGA/RCA to GVIF converter, but no luck so far... it may not compatible with the CTS' GVIF...

Anyone out there an expert at GVIF??????? ANYONE?!!??
I've had that converter. I can get some more if there is an interest. $450 a piece. 3 video in(one of them for rear view camera / 2 audio in/audio&video out. first 2 that I've sold were 100% plug and Play. but now having a hard time to find those connectors, as far as module is hard to get too. since sony owns that technology, very hard to get a chip.

Thought of an answer to my own question, but it'd probably be very hard to implement. When the screen is up show all the information from the backup camera. When the screen is down, just the horizontal section where the bumper is would show up so you can make sure not to back into another car. There would also be a possibility to switch between the two while in reverse (i.e. hit the nav up/down button). ANY GM ENGINEERS READING?

$450 is lunacy. I really want a backup cam, but not one that totals in a $600 bucks. I'll use my mirrors.

I have the GVIF Converter, but I don't know enough about GVIF to know what I'm doing wrong. I created my own connector, but I get nothing on the display. I don't know if it is a baud rate issue or a connector issue or both or something entirely different.

Re: Aux Video Input!!!!!!

That is what we have all been looking for, I'll let everyone know how it shakes out. Not only a backup camera, but my headrest DVD's can now pipe in to the front screen, and my iphone can show video? Outstanding.
