Any TSB for drivetrain or exhaust vibrations ???

Remove this ad
Hi all,

My CTS is at the dealer again. One of my complaints is an annoying audible vibration in the drivetrain and/or exhaust system. The noise is most noticeable when the car is stopped, foot brake engaged, and the automatic transmission in PARK, REVERSE, or DRIVE. There's no vibration or noise in NEUTRAL.

The service mgr. has already told me "they all do that." I say BS!

Is anyone aware of a TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN regarding this matter? If yes, please post a link, or a copy, or at least the number of the TSB(s).

Thanks in advance.

Mine had the same rattle (but not always). I took it in and told them to check for the bulletin on the exhaust. They performed the fix and I have not had the rattle since.

GMEng-

You sent me a private message asking for details. I am unable to do so as apparently, I do not have enough posts on this forum.

The bulletin instructs the dealer to elongate the rear exhaust hanger bracket attachment holes by 4.5 mm. The service takes about 1/2 hour. Hope this helps.

Re: Any TSB for drivetrain or exhaust vibrations ???

Wow! I have same problem! So we need to schedule another appointment: rear door rattle, body/exhaust vibration and body vibrations at 45 - 55 mph......it is getting very anoying. It is almost $50k car.........it is either GM engineers or assembly workers....who ever it is they do very poor job....I am very dissapointed with GM quality...so far it is the worst initial quality car I have ever had!
