Thumbs up TurtleWax ICE!

I had some swirl marks caused by the pre-delivery prep service. (I say it's high time that all pre-delivery washing/waxing be made an optional service and only after consulting with the new owner first).

Anyway, I found a new product by TurtleWax called ICE Synthetic Liquid Polish. It has the consistency of liquid silicone, clear as water, and applied by an included foam sponge, in direct sunlight or shade, and to any surface of the car - plastic, rubber, glass, paint, chrome, etc.

After applying it to the complete exterior and buffing it off with the included microfiber cloth, every mark had disappeared and the car simply sparkled and glistened in the sunlight.

New CTS paint formulations (mine is Crystal Red) seem to soak it up.

Great product and worthy of your consideration. Here's what it looks like:

BTW, I am not affiliated with TurtleWax or any other auto industry products.

Re: TurtleWax ICE!

Glad to hear it worked well....now the test will be how long it effectively hides the swirl marks. Keep us posted!

Re: TurtleWax ICE!

I haven't used Turtle Wax products in years because I always felt there
were better products out there.

You would make an excellent salesman as your post intrigued me.

The fact that it is "clear" and shouldn't leave residue marks is an added bonus.

I have to go to the store and look at the packaging. Maybe you can help. Does
it give you an idea of how many months wax protection it offers?

Photos from 'before' have been posted in the "Post pics of your new 08's..." thread but those pictures look as good as the 'after' version. My digital camera lacks the resolution to accurately pull that kind of detail out.

I tend to nitpick - like many of us on this forum - so these 'before' photos depict the car when it was delivered to me - admittedly, not THAT bad...

Suffice it to say, the car looks at least this good but now has a buttery feel to the finish as a bonus.

It does look great! I would only question the overall durability.

Life member of MOPH. But I was only in for three years. USARV May 1970 - June 1971. Welcome Home, sir.

This is me at the Quang Tri Province 'Cadillac Customer Service area' sporting my Accessories Catalog exclusive "Make War, Not Love" headband.

And here I am basking in pride on my 1969 OD green 'SNAFU-series FTA' convertible. I always declined the complimentary wash and wax... but I got a free boonie hat.

Peace y'all.

Re: TurtleWax ICE!

Stupid question...if it doesn't leave a white residue, how do you know if you missed a spot at quick glance? Also, did you apply the wax to any of the chrome pieces? I'm just a noob to car waxing.

HOOAH! from an Army Civilian at US Army ARDEC.
