Zaino sounds great but it seems a lot easier to wash, clay bar, wash and then put on ReJex and you still get a geat look.

Re: TurtleWax ICE!

mgm,

The number you provided was for general information. Their techs
(who are here in NJ) can be reached at: 732-833-8800

Got a really cool guy who told me this is "the best bang for the buck"
and what I should buy and apply in this specific order:

z-aio, z5, z6, z7

He also suggested a claybar but said that was purely optional.

He also said that some of these products are not available
on the Internet and that I should order through this distributor:

carl: 215-938-0991

PS: It looks like all the above products are available from the
Zaino store. Not sure why he said they were not. Additionally,
the order above doesn't seem right as I don't know why he is
suggesting I do the Z7 (car wash) last. I think he messed up the order of
application. Can someone put it in correct order?

Here's the correct order:
Z7 (Wash) 45 Minutes

Z-AIO (Paint Cleaner & base for the sealer. Apply to the entire car and buff off) 30 Minutes

Z5 (Sealer) (5 minutes to apply--let it dry-- then 15 minutes to wipe off)

Z6 (QD spray. Wipe down the vehicle using Z6 between coats, and after you dry your car for upkeep). (10 minutes)

You should be able to knock this off in 2 hours or less.

Give Carl a call: 215-938-0991. He's a good guys, very helpful, and serves the NJ market.

What type of pad do you use?
What type of material?
Bet that most don't know the answer to that.
Wrong pad=more swirls.
Wrong material=more swirls.

Remember he was removing swirls. He was using a mildly agressive material, and he didn't say what kind of pad.

It's not like he was buffing out a wax. He was cutting the paint on purpose.
Anytime an amatuer cuts paint, there is a high probablilty that damage will be done.
Period.
I was kidding about the polisher. Sometimes my dry sense of humor doesn't translate very well to a forum post.

The world is littered with cars that have had their paint swirled through misuse of a polisher.

Good write up, although some of those times seem a bit optimistic (at least for me!)

Re: TurtleWax ICE!

I also did Zaino last weekend first time. It did not take that much time.

Dawn - blue (Wash and Cotton Towel Dry) ~60 Minutes
Clay
Dawn - blue (Wash and Cotton Towel Dry)

Z-2 (apply) 20 Minutes
Play with my dog 30 Minutes
Z-6 (Wipe off Z-2 and Apply Z-6 and Clean) 20 Minutes
Watch TV 2 hours

Z-2 (reapply) 15 Minutes
chat with my kid 25 Minutes
Z-6 (Wipe off Z-2 and Apply Z-6 and Clean) 20 Minutes

I did not use Z-7 and Z-5. I will use Z-7 when I wash it next time and will use Z-5 on other car.
And, I just used only 1/2 oz of Z-2 with Accelerator each time.
Actually, for my White Diamond, I could not tell big difference. However, it is really smooooth if you touch you know it's covering....

Re: TurtleWax ICE!

Let me tell you...

This Carl guy could not be nicer.

I actually feel very comfortable about the Zaino products I am
about to buy as he took the time to tell me about each one and
how it is applied.

He is supplying me with a link to his website and I will be placing
an order first thing tomorrow morning.

Thanks everyone (especially MGM)

Carl is a great guy--and a great source of knowledge. Glad to hear it worked out.

If you have any Zaino questions go here for more information than you can imagine.

Take Care,
John

p.s. I want to see some pictures of that bad boy after you give it the zaino treatment!
