Problem with driver's seat leather

Remove this ad
I just took delivery of my '08 CTS this morning. I'll post more pics when I can get them, but we're in the middle of the midwest monsoon right now.

It seems that the perforated leather insert on my driver's seat is too 'loose'. I already have 2 huge wrinkles forming after only 40 miles and I can definately 'pinch an inch'.

Take a look. Should I have the dealer come get it? What can they do? I assume replace the whole seat.

Any advice? Thanks in advance for you help!

Re: Problem with driver's seat leather

Personally, I'd call up the dealer and see what they have to say. If that doesn't get you anywhere, you can always call up Cadillac. My seat definitely is not like that. Should be a warranty replacement, especially after only 40 miles.

Re: Problem with driver's seat leather

I will take another look at mine, but that looks pretty normal. The leather is rather loose on the seats, much more so than my German car experience. I like it though....it's comfortable. Look at the back seat bottoms, in my CTS the leather is noticably loose around the corners of the seat bottom where it meets the backrest.

Re: Problem with driver's seat leather

Mine has 1500K on it and about 2 months of daily driving and looks nothing like that. No wrinkles. I'd take it back.....

Re: Problem with driver's seat leather

I think Cadillac is using a "softer" leather in the 08 than in the first generation. IMHO the 08 seats are more comfortable than in my old 04.

Re: Problem with driver's seat leather

When I took delivery of my car in December, I noticed the same issue as soon as I got home. I didn't mention it to them as I didn't want them to make it worse than what it is. I see it every day as I get into my car, but I am trying not to let it bother me. I guess there could be worse things that would bother me more. Anyway, if you mention it to your dealer, let me know what they say.
