How about this one. Passenger side replacement, perfect. Driver's side, warped. And to top it all off, when the tech opened the box he put a razor-slice in the fabric and installed it with greasy hands and called it done. HACKS!

Re: Ouch - is this a known issue on the CTS?

We have a guy that is a dedicated "trim" guy. He deals with things like this, squeaks, rattles, wind noise, water leaks... stuff like that.
He knows how to handle things without razorblades, greasy hands, or other retarded phenomenon.
I am his backup if he is on vacation. I have no love for that kind of work, but it isn't exactly rocket science to know how to handle trim pieces.
They also provide us with latex gloves to keep our hands, and your vehicle clean.
Sorry your dealer hasn't learned these lessons yet

Re: Ouch - is this a known issue on the CTS?

ewil3rd,

you have my respect. And I mean it. Unfortunately there is too many "tech" who either are simply inept or do not care...sad story. But it is in every industry like that. I know. I visit too many plants and deal with that. This is one of the reason that last 4 years I started maintaining my cars myself! Somehow I started enjoying it...

ewill3rd
just keep on your great job. At least this forum appreciate it.......

Mine screen squeeks when it hits the 90's. It was a cool summer, so not that often. Did they fix it for you? What did they do to fix it?

Be sure to remind the advisor to have someone with clean hands put the part on and not to use a chainsaw to open the box.

Or his effed up teeth. They have this one chance to make good or I am switching service departments. If I switch service departments, I switch where I and everyone I know buys Cadillacs.

If they tell you they are just going to replace the whole nav unit, tell them forget it. They will give you a refurb that just came out of some elses car. On my 04 they gave me 3 of them until I complained to central services. Winters on it's way, so the problem is resolved for a few months.

Re: Ouch - is this a known issue on the CTS?

The screen is separate from the radio on the CTS.
I have seen some bulletins on possible fit issues, the one I saw had to do with a screen lockup but I would assume a noise could come from such a thing also.

Re: Ouch - is this a known issue on the CTS?

I think it's just a squirt of grease in the right place. Probably hard to do though.
