NJRonbo, some of the "annoyances" you speak of in your original post can be overcome -- the NAV "bong" can be turned off or turned down, the roof screen really does keep the heat out, etc. Once you get a chance to customize the setup of the car, some of your "regrets" will likely disappear. There is alot of advice on how to do that effectively on this forum.
I believe you made a good choice with the CTS. I know I did. |

Does this mean it's off the assembly line or that the strike may affect me? | The only way you could get a vehicle in 3 weeks is for your exact order was previously ordered by the dealer (even color).
Normally it takes at least 5 weeks (minimum)from the day you order to get a vehicle off the line.
If the vehicle was already built you could have it soon but if the order was placed on say 2/25 don't expect it to be built before 4/1 or later.
This axle strike may have long term effects on production if its not settled quickly. GM uses 80% of there product. |

No, the car is manufactured. It is "inbound" and the dealer even
said something about shuffling stuff around on his computer to get it.
They just aren't expecting its delivery for the next 2-3 weeks tops.
And, thank goodness the BONG on the NAV can be turned off.
I'm certain I'll settle in very fast. I promise a detailed review in
about another month or so once I can really assess whether the CTS
was the right choice or not. |

I don't care much for the BONG either, but my wife likes it because she thinks it helps in cities where there are multiple places to turn that are very close together. (Note for those without actual contact with this system: the BONG seems to occur at the point you should actually be turning the wheel.) Don't know that it is actually that accurate, but she thinks it is and may well be right. YMMV. |

I am one of you! As most know, I am not enamored by this NAV unit. The Bong is one thing that I do like (Along with the screen). It IS accurate and can separate out multiple roads with ease.
The accuracy seems to be within maybe 15 feet. I was very happy to have it with me once so far when there were THREE roads going left, all converging on the same intersection, with NO street signs. |
