When should I put Oil in the car? It has 6000 miles on it, does a light come on when I should go get it filled? thanks.

The DIC will tell you. You can also check the Oil Life Remaining percentage with the Vehicle information button (looks like a car with the letter 'i' next to it).

Look at pages 3-50 and 5-19 in the manual.

I have run several cars on Mobil 1. I have had good luck changing every 6000 miles. I ran my cars at least 80,000 miles and they ran like new when I sold them.

After the OLM reaches 0%, you should change the oil within the next two fuel tank fillups.

Re: When should I take my car to dealer for Oil?

Check your oil regularly. (like once a month or more) I have a DI, and it seems to be using oil. I just checked yesterday for the first time in a month and the dipstick is almost dry. Last time it was near the "fill" line. I have 3500 miles, and my DIC still says that I have about 75% oil life remaining. I was already considering getting an oil change (to get rid of debris from a new engine), but now I realize that I desperately need to top it off and will probably go ahead with a change anyway.

You can use your oil life monitor or whatever makes you feel secure. It you are a low usage/mile user, you should also remember, that if your oil change light doesn't come on within a year, it is still required that you change your oil minimally once per year.

I don't know..I wouldn't go by the oil thingy...I changed it last week at 6,500. It can't hurt...only help, IMHO.

"can't hurt" is relative. it does hurt your wallet and the environment (okay not much but it does hurt nonetheless) to change oil before it has "worn out".
I just changed the filter at 4k miles and topped off with Mobil-1 (took about a half pint).
just keep an eye on the oil level to detect usage trends early on. use the mfr's calculator and the warranty provisions to determine when the oil really needs to be changed, especially if it's a leased vehicle.
my $0.02.
