Very, very few people subject their cars to the old black vinyl/leather bras (which are bulky and can harm the paint more than they help a lot of the time).
Some links, from the CTS-V forum (a lot of these guys have done them): http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/clearbra.html http://www.invisiblemask.com/site.html http://www.llumar.com/na-eng/contact.html http://www.3m.com/
...and others
From InvisibleMask, here's the specific 2008 CTS pattern, as well: http://www.invisiblemask.com/cgi-bin...LLAC&model=CTS
and also their many choices for mirror, rear bumper, etc. protection pieces.
This is the only way to have protection ALL the time and keep your front paint perfect, yet never have to worry about taking a bra on or off OR seeing it on there (aside from the faint line, with some colors). They've been a staple with many luxury brands for years, often applied at purchase, and are more than worth the cost. |

There should be a few dealers/installers in your area. |

They want $620 plus tax.
What are any of you guys paying for these? It does include a seven year warranty, or it may be removed whenever you desire (but not re-installed). They also said it works better on light colors than dark colors.
Thanks for any opinions. My initial thoughts are that the front on my last CTS did not damage much, although other prior cars did chip alot and get "road rash." My '03 CTS had minimal chips after 55,500 miles, and I was able to sell it in October for $16,000. However, this '08 CTS cost $12,000+ over my "old" CTS, so I think it deserves the protection, besides being such a good looking car! |

The cost is in the labor, not the materials. Depending on the contours of the car, they may have to spend considerable time and effort get the material to fit the contours without any wrinkles or other visible imperfections. The quote I had for my Corvette was $900.
When they said it "works better on light colors than dark colors" I think they are saying that the edge will be less visible on light colors than it is on dark colors. The effectiveness of the product is not dependent on color. |

I hear a lot of people, with a lot of general cars, getting $500-600 range, and that's very worth it. It SEEMS like a lot, if you think of it like a sticker, but the use is indispensable and very custom fit, so worth it. |

Now, I just can't decide whether to get one or not? (I'll probably do it, since I'm so anal about cleaning the car--and keeping it nice!) |

$600 for a complete job. Hood, bumper, mirrors, top of rear bumper and some heavier stuff on the HID assemblies.
Then people wanted pictures.......
You have to really look close to see the line.
There are some gouges in the material now,but not one paint chip.
I used a Ft Myers company that has some dealers nationwide, called Ultrashield. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
