2008+ Cadillac CTS General DiscussionDiscuss everything about the 2008 and newer Cadillac CTS that does NOT fall into either the Performance or Appearance Modification category.
Thanks for participating in the first real life roof crush test that I know of on the 08 CTS.
I passed your pics to upper structure engineering. They were very excited to see the pics,
and seemed very pleased with the integrity of the roof, and were happy you two were OK.
Unfortunately, it was at your expense.
We already have enough data on the 50MPH front barrier test, so please, no participants are needed.
I think I remember reading that the CTS already complies with the new 2010 rollover standard... Not sure exactly what that standard is, but from the looks of it it will do just fine!
welp guys,,,,try not to crash if you have an 08 CTS....the body shop told me that getting some of the parts is kind of hard cause the car is so new. i don't know if it's true or not but either way there telling me it's going to be a solid 6 weeks or more before it's repaired. untitill it's repaired i am driving a scion Xb...not a bad car it just ain't no cadillac!

In 2005 I recieved my new C6 Corvette. Had it two weeks before someone plowed into me. The damage was the hood and front fender/lights. Chevrolet told the body shop that parts were not yet available and they could not give an exact time when the parts would be available. State Farm decided they had to total my car. OK that was good news for me because I didn't want a brand new wrecked and fixed Corvette.

as much as i want MY car back and not another one. i would rather them total it VS me having to wait sooooooooo long to get it back....
nope the side airbogs didn't deply..sorry about long post gap. BUT in exciting news! i talked to the body shop foreman and some of the parts came in early,so they started work on it....also he apologized about the car being left in the rain and that they had cleaned the interior. and would make sure it was to my satisfaction. so after talking bad about them, i feel it's just as important to post when they do good and as of now i am happy again. AND MY CAR MAY BE BACK EARLIER THAN THEY THOUGHT!!
after ALL this time without my baby i finally have a time frame that they said it would be ready in! so by the end of this month or early next month i will have her back! the long wait time is from Gm taking FOREVER to get the "siderail" of the car to the dealer but it's a new car and that comes with the territory, anyways i know it will have a few tweaks to work out but i am hoping that since the drivetrain and steering componants were not damaged it will at least drive the same. some cars come from a repair just fine others do not,so i guess i'll wait and see. anyways i am just glad to have a timeframe and no longer call to hear a 'we won't know untill the parts arrive" so i had to update everyone!
