Paint Issues Around (Cyclops) Brake Light

Remove this ad
Just noticed some paint peeling/rubbing off right around the left and right side seem where the brake light meets the trunk lid. Any other owners have this same issue?

Here's my theory: (1) either came from the factory that way or, most likely, (2) when the guys prepped my car the orbital buffer took some paint off. I never noticed it the first time I washed my car. I may have passed it off as wax that was never removed. It looks pretty bad on the Black Raven. It's almost impossible for human hand to have take it off unless a screw driver or some other point object was placed between the seems.

Yep! Just posted a thread on the same thing before I found yours. Took it to show the dealer today. They are "looking into it". I'll let you know how it turns out. I have noticed from day one that the paint was of very poor quality.

No paint problems on mine. It is White Diamond, nearly 11 months old.

Mine is perfect and very tough. No chips despite hours of high speed running.

Same here. Red crystal with a lot of hard hiway miles(read bugs). Also parked uder a lot of trees which seem to always sending off tons of pollen. Red crystal paint has two coats, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Re: Paint Issues Around (Cyclops) Brake Light

Haven't seen anything around the cyclops, but like spaceman I have noticed the paint is fairly thin. I have a lot of paint chips around the wheel well. I have an 03 Mustang and have gone through 4 winters and have the same amount of paint chips around the wheel well. The CTS is 5 months old.
