Yup got the calibration out and editable yesterday so we'll be doing beta testing all this week (as well as signing up for sponsorship I'm assuming).
My main goal by the end of the week is to remove the overly soft Cadillac shift qualities and tighten them up so that you can actually feel/enjoy them and develop an "All out" sport mode calibration
If any 08 owners live in southeast Michigan and would like to participate in some product testing (not just this) please drop me a line, I need all the input I can get! |

I'm glad that you are with us. I saw what you could do with the GTO and I can't wait to see what you have in store for the CTS. Any chance you are working on a premium tune for the SIDI engine? |

Ok got more development done, not only are we the first company tuning these cars but we also have some tricks up our sleeves I think I found a happy medium with the torque management (commercial software only has an on/off switch ours can adjust it ) And i'd like to open this up to anyone in the detroit who would like to beta test this for us for feedback in exchange for a free TCM tune. Just want to make sure my tastes follow the majority here

I am not in your area so I can't participate in your test, however I am interested in the things you are doing with torque and shift management . I have to ask an "old man" question. One of my main reasons for purchasing a new automobile every 48 months is warranty. How do the modifications you are working on affect the GM warranty? Even old guys have a need for speed and sport. |

Well the good news is as with the rest of our offerings (including CTS-V STS-V XLR-V ect) our modifications are undetectable at the dealership level so warranty isnt an issue. Also we dont take the "balls out" route that many tuners do and completely eliminate torque management. We fine tune it and keep at LEAST 50% of it in to keep driveline longevity up and shift harshness down.
I've got my car shifting at light throttle just barely harder so you notice it actually shifting and I've removed that lag between shifts for the most part. At WOT it's crisp and simple but in sport mode it shifts more like a corvette |

I am not up on all the new technology, but as it relates to my old 69 442 TH 400 transmission, firmer shifts via a shift kit actually was better for the transmission than the smoother shift. Is the same true for a modern transmission? |

Kudos for working on this, but be careful telling people that it's "undetectable at the Dealer level"- if a good Tech has reason to look for it, a tune is noticeable.
I'm interested to see the results.

As far as the dealer stuff goes, some of you recognize our company name i'm sure and know who we do projects for/with. Our CVN #'s match as does the rest of our scan tool data, so at that point from a service standpoint it doesnt exist. Can a dealer tech notice our tune? Unless they are out beating on your vehicle probably not, but then again I dont know any dealer who would bring it up AFTER beating on your car LOL. So far of the thousands of tunes we've done like this it's NEVER been an issue yet (knock on wood!) |

Why not?
I know when my 3.6 was tuned, shift points were changed as were shift firmness settings. Mine was tuned with HPtuners software.
The ECM in a Non-DI 08 3.6 is the exact same as what is in the previous gen 3.6.
What ECM is in the DI 3.6? |

What ECM is in the DI 3.6? | The ECM in a 3.6LDI is a new version of the E69 and is only used in the 3.6LDI (similar to the 2.0L Turbo version of the E69)
Also, HPT doesnt support the parameters we are editing so that wouldnt do us (IE my company any good )
One of our main corporate focuses is first to market niche tuning and we have penetrated many segements long before there was software for them
But thats enough of the off topic stuff, does anyone in Michigan have a CTS (DI or NON) that they would like to shift like a real six speed, not a slushbox?
