yes, i looked at and drove it in 06 when I bought my BMW and then again in November of 07 when I bought the CTS.

It's plastic and ugly, typical american looking.

The ride feel was great, but I couldn't get past the interior. One of the ugliest I've seen. I looked at the Caddy STS, Caddy CTS, Lexus ES 350, IS 350, Infiniti M35, Infiniti G35, Audi A4 and BMW 335i. The STS was by far the poorest interior in looks and funciton of the lot.

If you want to be "current" with your long-term purchase, which she did, the CTS is more current.

That said, I am surprised a little at some of the (very) minor bells and whistles I have on my 01 DTS that are not in her fully loaded 08 CTS (custom exit positions, auto seat position based on fob, rear seat heaters, tiltdown mirror that works as described). I have seen discussions on some of these, and understand them to some extent, but was just a little surprised.
Actually the CTS is supposed to have custom exit and entry possitions... but it doesn't work. In the computer it ask you to set it to entry or button, but I could never get it to work on entry and only could get it to work by the button.

Tild down mirrors work as designed. You can evern select it to be passenger only or both.

I do hate the plastic interiors but I don't think think bimmer has a nicer over STS .That's where I disagree other than that there're many points I agree .

BMW was to me a close second to last on interior. STS and BMW 335 are pretty much bottom of the list for me, Although the BMW isn't plastic feeling...just poorly done.

The Lexus ES 350 was close to the bottom too... Great luxury feel, but a very uninspiring "Grandfather" looking interior.

By far the CTS and the Audi had the best interiors, followed in a distant thrid by the M35.

I don't like the double hood on the Top of the 335 dash. Double like a Mustang? cool. Double like a BMW with one hood in front of the driver and another in the middle of the dash? .......Dorky. And I am a BMW backer....just sold my Z3 to make room in the garage for the CTS.

Acutally, i grew to really love that bump. The placement for the Navi is perfect for checking while driving. A simple glace right and you had all the data you needed. It was easy to re-focus back on the road after looking at the Navi.

The CTS is very much the same for me. The placement is much easier to read than the Acura's I've driven.
