I have an 09 CTS and have had mine into the dealer twice to fix the wind-noise in the sunroof. They supposedly 'adjusted' the glass last time which didn't fix the problem. The tech mgr. called GM again today (my 3rd visit) and they told him to replace the 'rear' glass in the sunroof - that it was curved differently from the front glass... it's on order, we will see.

Re: 08 CTS Sunroof Fix (Wind noise when closed)

I have the same noise. Pushing the cross bar against the glass (just a touch) makes the noise disappear. Car is at the dealership right now. They called me - no abnormal noises! They will keep the car overnight but I know the outcome.....I will have to fix it myself! Would have been cheaper if I did it without going to the dealer....

I cannot believe it, this suppose to be GM/Cadillac flagship car and so many problems! I am getting sick and tired going to the dealer and educating them on how to troubleshoot and fix the various problems. After spending $50 this is not what I was expecting.....

The wife's '08 is heading in for the 3rd time on this issue - this time we're trying a different dealer than the one we purchased from. Obviously this is a common issue, I can't believe GM can't come up with a fix. Perhaps the 3rd time will be the charm....

Had the wind noise problem also. My dealer replaced front and back seal plus NEW style center support. Took about 1.5 hrs. including a free wash. Parts were on back order and took about two weeks to get them in. A very nice fix. Noise issue resolved.

Can you please post part numbers off the repair ticket. I am interested in what you describe as the NEW style center support. Does it look different, is it more solid, or?

Re: 08 CTS Sunroof Fix (Wind noise when closed)

Dealer unable to fix the problem - "cannot replicate". I believe the crossbar is the culprit. It is flimsy and does not press against the glass. I am very interested in the new type of the center support. I am sure it would fix my problem....

Re: 08 CTS Sunroof Fix (Wind noise when closed)

I have no wind noise from mine but I do notice a "tick" sound that sounds like it's coming from the front of the sunroof. This noise is not all the time but when it happens it is quite annoying. I have not traced it down yet.

Re: 08 CTS Sunroof Fix (Wind noise when closed)

I also have no wind noise but I also have some ticking noise from cross bar(rattling) and trim.

when I push the cross bar forward and hold the noise get eliminated but I can't hold it while I am driving, so I put thin a peice of paper (tissue) between cross bar and roof window that almost eliminates the ticking nose from crossbar.
I may need to visite dealer to tighten the cross bar somehow.

Oh! Also, There is a hidden space inside(top) of cross bar if you did not know.
