I bought a 2000 Escalade from them in 2000 and had no problems with the service department. I work close to downtown, so the drive is only about 15 min. I bought from Broome because I live in Blue Springs and it is right on my way to work.... bad idea. |

It should be absolutely perfect in every way and quality should be 100% on the production line. Quite clearly, it's not. They should make sure sunroofs are perfect on every single vehicle that has them.
My father in law has a '98 Toyota Avalon with 100,000 miles and it rides like dream - silky smooth and amazingly quiet. This CTS is by far the noisiest car I have ever driven. Rougher than even my old '02 4 cyl Ford Ranger pick-up.
Is a dealer 'fix' really a fix? Half of them don't know what they are doing and the other half don't do the job right.
It's a Toyota for me next time, I'm afaid. Even an American one. |

But they really do seem to care about the owners and have alot of follow-up. As the delivering Dealer I do think they have some responsibility to make sure I'm happy but in the end GM needs to step up and provide the information to resolve and fix our issues. I have already asked for a Cadillac Regional manager if we cannot solve my issues.
FWIW - I'm in the same program as you. 2008 Escalade, 2008 CTS - $100,000 in Cadillacs this month. They should treat us well |

Toyota’s New Management Initiative Promises Top-Down Shakeup
By Marty Jerome June 28, 2007 | 6:01:00 AMCategories: Business
You’d think Toyota would be sitting pretty, having overtaken GM only two months ago as the world’s biggest automaker. Yet recalls have tripled in the past three years and the Toyota brand has slipped in J.D. Power & Associates study of quality. Dealerships continue to score poorly in customer satisfaction surveys. And Toyota’s most loyal customer base is aging—which is exactly what happened to Buick and Oldsmobile. So management is planning an overhaul—an initiative dubbed EM2—or everything matters exponentially. It will entail a reexamination of everything from product planning to customer service and marketing—even the dealerships that Toyota doesn’t own will come under scrutiny.

I've had some problems in the past with various Cadillacs I've owned, as well. So far, my early build (August 07) CTS has been the best car I've ever owned. Humans make cars, humans are not perfect, either. |

The one I bought it from said I must have a window down or the seats in the back not shut thus allowing wind through from the trunk. The next dealer said "fixed it" but not really since you did not buy the car from us. Then I took it to a real dealer that not only fixed it but gave me a caddy loaner. Keep on them. |

They did adjustments and reported that they fixed the problem. I will know more tomorrow on my morning commute. I still can push the bar to make all wind noise disappear....I may just fix it myself and move on. |

i've tried pushing the bar up and that doesn't do anything
i'm trying to hold off bringing it to the dealer until i need my first oil change |

I contacted both my dealer and Cadillac about getting this resolved once and for all...Of course they want my car again. Wanting to drive my car this week I figured I would try my own fix.
My windnoise is coming from the joint between the two roofs (Front and rear) and when I gently press the center plastic bar and create a seal the wind noise disappears.
I opened the roof in vent mode and had access to the front rubber seal mounted on the center bar. There is also the same seal on the back of the bar. The seal is seated in a "C" channel that is molded into the center bar. I carefully lifted (or popped) the rubber seal from the bar in the middle of the roof (this is where my noise was coming from) Then I gently re-seated the seal about 50% into the channel. Now the rubber seal is about a 1/8" taller and seals to the roof when closed.
I also considered heating the cross bar up and reshaping it to follow the curve of the roof.
This is not a permanent fix but removed the wind noise until Cadillac can figure this out. It could be a temperature thing as well.. it has been below 30 degrees since I have owned the car. |

Finally took the time to book a service app at the dealer. They adjusted front and rear glass panes and noise is now gone.
Also was experiencing a mild vibration in steering wheel between 90-120 km/hr. The guys balanced all 4 wheels and removed the vibration completely. Beautiful car is even better now. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
