DI, AWD, FE1

I’m very happy with the setup. I’ve had the car for a month, and it’s a pleasure to drive. The CTS doesn’t handle or have the road feel of the 330xi I just handed back, but it has all I need or want. (The roads suck where I live, so too much road feel was getting old after a while).

FE2/FE3 sounds good though – in my moments of FE1 doubt (usually after reading this board), I think I might have passed up on something even better than what I already got. Thus is life…, but if anyone is worried about buying an FE1, don’t, I think mine is great and have no regrets.

1st American car in my family since my dad's '78 Seville - loved that car.

Re: Powertrain and suspension poll for 2008 CTS - which do you have / are you getting

I live in Utah and wanted the AWD loaded. Had to settle on one that had all but the 18" All Season tire package and also had the EG Classic "V" type grill installed. I had driven a CTS with the FE3 and felt it a little too harsh for my daily driver and didn't want summer tires. I had the dealer work out a deal for me with 18" chromed CTS wheels and the All season tires. It seems to be just fine.

Re: Powertrain and suspension poll for 2008 CTS - which do you have / are you getting

Have yet to test drive the car but priorities will be FE2 for sportiness, AWD for the climate, and 3.6 non-DI for the budget

Re: Powertrain and suspension poll for 2008 CTS - which do you have / are you getting

This poll needs 2 additional options:

1) DI 3.6 - manual - FE1
2) DI 3.6 - manual - FE2

The auto isn't standard on the DI in Canada.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of that.

Yet another case where the smaller market somehow has more choices.
