Info on taking Engine Covers off

Has anyone taken the engine covers off? I'd like to check the power steering fluid and look for a good place to connect the ground if I ever have to jump start my car. They probably just pop off but I surely don't want to break anything.

Re: Info on taking Engine Covers off

Call your dealer and ask the service advisor, every GM vehicle that I have owned that had an engine "cover" did not require any tools to remove it, as you noted it simply pulls or pops off. Let us know what you find out.

Re: Info on taking Engine Covers off

I think they do just come off, I have removed a couple.
There is a hook under the edge of the crosscar brace you have to pull back.

As for jump starting, there should be a big red cap with a + on it somewhere in there and use this for the ground for your jumper cables. It is on the right side strut tower area.
The battery is in the trunk I believe.

Re: Info on taking Engine Covers off

Are you sure you want to connect the ground to the plus(+) lead. This is going to explode a battery.

The manual, pg 5-15 refers to both the positive and negative terminals as +. Another misprint,

koz
I guess I ran my sentence together, I thought I said use the red capped + terminal under the hood for the positive connection and that stud in the illustration for negative.
Looks like I wasn't quite that clear.
