I believe the '08 CTS has a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds. That is very good for most cars and would put it in the Sports Sedan range. It's not the 4.6 seconds of the twin turbo 335i BMW, but not many sedans are.
The below quote is from Motortrends first drive of the CTS caddy:

Proving ground tests in Germany suggest Cadillac's claimed 0-to-60-mph time of 5.9 seconds for both auto and manual DI cars is right on the money, and we saw 7000 rpm in fifth-an indicated 153 mph-in a manual on the autobahn south of Mainz

BTW, the 268hp 2007 Camry 0-60 time is 7 seconds. Now that's what I would say is NOT a sports sedan and the difference in price when comparing it feature for feature is more like 10k not 20k.
Also, you like to quote apples to oranges.
The curb weight of the 08 CTS DI is 3874 lbs. The curb weight of the Camry is 3483 lbs. The Camry isn't AWD so don't try to compare it to the AWD CTS. And why are you trying to add weight to the CTS by saying floormats, NAVI, Luggage and passangers increase it... Those things will increase the weight weight of your camry the same amount.
In fact, the camry is a pretty boring car to drive... I've never been a fan of FWD cars. On top of that, I might fall asleep looking at the interior of a Camry... Yuck.
The M35 has 25 less hp with about the same weight and only has a 5 speed Auto. I don't recall it's 0-60 time, but I don't think it's going to be better than 5.9. I don't know what the handling aspects of the M35 are, so I can't coment on that.
To finish it all off... if you want a track car or a sports car why would buy a Camry or a Caddy? Go buy an EVO if you want a fast cheap car or a 335i/M3/M5 BMW if you want a trackable sports sedan or a Honda 2000 or corvette if you want a sports car.
