There is definitely an issue either with the drivetrain or even rear differential or something else. I had the wheels and tires checked out thoroughly. I'm just really surprised that GM doesn't check their cars out properly before they are sent out to dealerships. For the guy who claims that he doesn't care that the car vibrates and loves it. Are you crazy? Why would I want to spend that kind of money on a car that has a vibration issue? I drive the freeways mostly and the vibration was driving me nuts. There is no excuse for this. I feel bad for IMF.

Would you be willing to post the name of the dealership you bought and sold from/to; I like to hear their side of the story??

Their side of the story is that they sell cars to make money, and prefer it if people just write the check and don't complain about anything.

Okay, you got me on this one. The Cadillac dealership near me is clearly excellent. But even the best business doesn't want to have to deal with complaints they can't resolve, so I'm sure they didn't enjoy this particular customer interaction.

That might be the case, but I really felt the dealship didn't give a rats ass about their customer. I am not here to mention the name of the dealership because I have more class then they will ever have. They will never get a referal from me. I just think it's sad that General Motors doesn't really care about their customers. It's interesting because they are trying to lure over current BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Infiniti and Lexus owners. I have always bought German and Japanese vehicles and will still continue to to so. I was proven how bad the resale value clearly is on a General Motors product, including the new 08 CTS. I hope for those of you out there who purchased the new CTS ,that you don't have problems nor the vibration issue I have experienced with this vehicle. There is an issue there with the bibration. Don't be fooled thinking it's just road feel. It's a shimmmmmmmy of some type.

Of coarse they are not going to give you top price for a car you are telling them has a problem. If I was buying a car from someone, and they told me it drive like shit but it looks good, I would tell them what ever you are asking for the car is to much. It has nothing to do with CTS resale it has to do with the salesman....

Normally I would sale the car myself. But, don't you think it would look strange to sell a new vehicle with only 300 miles on it? I think I would get a million questions as to why are you selling a car you just bought? I didn't want to deal with that issue nor lie to the customer. There definitely is something wrong with some of the new CTS's out there. I've owned several vehicles and I mean several and never experienced anything like this. It is not road feel. I would be curious to find out if there has been a true fix for the vehicle. Let me know

DITTO!! Hey, I think it's fair to say this individual has had something of a hidden agenda.
As I said earlier on in this thread, you'd have to be an idiot to sell a brand new car back to the dealer. It just didn't add up. And as I wrote in a thread a few months back...
"Never argue with an idiot. He'll take you down to his level, and then beat you with experience".

I'm far from being an idiot nor a spy on here. If you can't handle the truth that's your problem. The car does have a vibration issue and I'm not certainly the only one that has complained about it. If you think I was going to keep a car like that forget it. You just don't know how I am. I'm certainly not going to argue with Cadillac or with a dealership that doesn't care about their customers. I don't need this aggrevation. Yes, I wish I didn't have to lose some money in the process, but life does go on. It was a huge mistake on my part ever thinking that the vibration issue would have been resolved.

Re: Sold My New Cts Back To The Dealer. Still Major Vibration Issue.

LOL, why do people think he's a spy just b/c he did something that YOU consider financially irresponsible.
Maybe he makes enough money that his time is worth more than the stress and hassle of trying to get the car fixed and selling it privately. If he's legit, and I think people should get the benfit of the doubt, then that could be his angle.
In any event, it's scaring me b/c I want to order a car, and I know the dealership demo was down for a week as "it needed a part" for which salesman didn't ever explain what the problem was, claiming he didn't know. Like it's top secret or something and he couldn't have checked? Also, I saw one broken down on the commute home last night. Well assuming it was broken down as it was off on the side, on a country road at 6:30pm which is dark in IL now, and nobody in or around car I could see. Maybe guy's wife was so aroused with car he was getting lucky I dunno .

Anyway, I know from my Z06 ownership, that GM and certain dealerships take a, "It's your problem now!" approach to alot of people. I do love the new CTS, and I think it is a world class product, provided teh quality is there in the end. A few bad eggs early on won't totally scare me off, but if the Customer service isn't leagues above what I receive with my $76k Z06, for which I'm treated like a Cavalier owner whenever I need service, then I think GM will be circling the drain here in the next 10 yrs or so. I don't care how good a product you produce, if you don't back it up, it will bite you in the end .

will be following these topics closely

By the way I appreciated your posting. Listen, some people just don't like hearing the truth or possibly that something could be wrong with their new CTS. I don't have the time nor the patience to be aggravated over a vibration issue that would drive me nuts.
For your information, when the new CTS came out in September I took one for a spin on the freeway with the saleman. When I floored the gas pedal the entire car suddenly died on the freeway. I then had to pull over to the side and suddenly everything turned back on. I then floored it again and it died again. I was trying not to let that bother me thinking it might just be something minor. Maybe, I should have taken that as a sign never to buy the 08 CTS. I know there are problems with many cars when they first come out. You would think though with all the time and money GM invested in testing this vehicle time and time again, they would have produced a vehicle with minor problems. Look how Mercedes took 7 years to produce the new 08 C-Class. They took the time because they didn't want to produce a vehicle with any problems that plagued some of the current vehicles these past few years. Don't rush into the new CTS. I would wait a bit.

Re: Sold My New Cts Back To The Dealer. Still Major Vibration Issue.

Every single post by onomrb since joining the forums has menyioned this "mystery vibration"- every single post. No "Hey guys, check out my car", or "Going to pick up my CTS today", or even "Here's a few pics". No, he launched right into this.

He's a troll, plain and simple. Let this thread die.

Re: Sold My New Cts Back To The Dealer. Still Major Vibration Issue.

I suggested that we should be shown a video clip of this vibration and it was like I had brought a skunk to his little party. If the wheel was shaking it ought to show in a video. If the car was dancing all over the road as claimed, it ought to be audible. I'm skeptical.

Far from a troll here bud. What, you can't handle the truth? Or, the fact that someone could have a major vibration issue? I'm certainly not the only who experienced this vibration issue. It just amazes me when someone tells the truth about something and the fact that you just can't believe that it's happened. Well, I just hope you are fully happy with your CTS. I'm glad mines gone.
