I don't think a good negotiator has to go after the holdback. Buy it as close to invoice as you can as the dealer has a light bill to pay.

That being the case, then you aren't buying the car for a price above invoice. You are buying the car above invoice plus the 3% holdback.

Actually, I paid invoice so yes they made the 3% holdback. Like I say, they got to make something to stay in business.
