Thanks!! |

Looking forward to a reponse on this too...I've ordered a 2008 DI + Premium Luxury Collection package so I guess I get the projector beam tungsten-halogen headlamps -- not the Xenon HID headlamps. I didn't want the performance packages just to get the HIDs. |

However, there are more differences between the base HL's and Performance Package HLs - with the Perf. Pkg, you also get the AFLS (steerable HL's), LED lightpipes, and foglamps. The LEDs & eggcrate turn signals are pretty much just cosmetic, but the fogs are the main content difference. AFAIK, you can't get foglamps with the base HLs. |

I assume the info is in there under the specs somewhere. I called a Cadillac dealership today to ask and basically was told that even THEY didnt know yet and he wouldnt look it up for me. Says the cars too new... |

It lists the fogs, the turn signal and the license plate bulbs, that's it. |

Are there two different styles of housings as well? In some pics, the turn signal portion has the "eggcrate" style and in others they don't but have an additional projector type lense in its place. For this second type, alot of pics I've seen don't show it with fog lamps, so how do you go about getting that type of headlight? |

I have the HID's but the manual is a one size fits all that lists all options that are found on the car. It does not list any bulbs (main lamp HID or not) other than the ones I mentioned earlier.
Try GMpartsdirect.com. Send them an email with a VIN number from any 08 CTS (they won't answer the question without it) and ask for the part number of what you are looking for. You can then search for it on their site and see the cost. |

The HIDs on the Perf Package don't really have bulbs (they're ignitors) and really don't ever burn out. This Perf Pkg includes foglamps, but the base halogen HLs shown in your post (I have these) don't come with fogs at all. Maybe some enterprising aftermarketer will fix this situation someday..... |

Are you saying that the type of HL that I showed and you have are the base HLs that would come with the car if you don't order any packages or options? When I was at the dealer this weekend I only saw one car with these types of HLs and all the rest had the eggcrate style with out fog lights. Sorry for being a little dense but I'm just trying to figure this out. |

If you look at the window sticker on the cars with the eggcrate HL's, they will all show the Performance Package, which includes these HID lights. However, it also includes foglights, so I'm not sure how you could see any cars with the HIDs *and* no foglights. That's not possible unless the dealer stole foglights off of Perf Pkg cars. |

ok...I had to call 3 dealerships before one would pony up the style of bulb on the non hid cars. They told me it was an H11 for the low beam and an H9 for the high beam. Of course we only need to replace the low beam bulb so H11 it is!!! Just remember...this is not first hand knowledge...only what one dealership told me. So buyer beware if I am wrong!!!
BTW--If you plan to buy DDM hid kit got to ddmtuning.com...they sell for $135. I havent seen a better price yet. No affiliation with this company but the guy there explained EVERYTHING to me and spent some good quality time on the phone with me earlier yesterday. |

I called a dealer and they told me the same but later discovered they only found the fitment for foglamps and not the lowbeam.
Thanks!
Mark
