New radio problem

Remove this ad
I have 2200 miles on a DI AWD with the premium package.
I leave an iPod nono connected all the time.

Yesterday almost all the audio functions of the radio ceased to work. The Nav system worked perfectly.

The audio mute indicator was on but the radio did not mute. I could only change the band by moving through the favorite presets. The touch screen would not work on any of the audio functions. but it did in the NAV. I could still go to the XM weather and traffic info.

Turning the radio off and on did nothing.

Turning the car off and on did nothing.

The radio returned to normal function after rebooted the car by disconnecting the battery.

It worked fine for a few hours and it happened again the next day, which was today.disconnecting the battery fixed it again.

Has anyone experienced this? If so is there a permanent fix?

Re: New radio problem

I had a very similar problem the other day, and the iPod was the cause. The iPod locked up after changing tracks from the radio, and then the radio acted wonky for a while then finally locked up and rebooted. I unplugged the iPod and had to do a reset on the iPod to get it unlocked. Everything is working fine now. I'd say just random glitches. Maybe some of these can be fixed with a software update, but that's up to GM to get the discs to the dealers or send them out to customers. And I doubt either will happen.
