I wouldn't put that in my car. My suggestion above will make your car look exactly as if you had the UG1 Option (Universal Home Remote, includes garage door opener, 3-channel programmable) on your car (this option is only available as part of Y41 Luxury Level Two). Why do anything else?

how much it would cost. That's why I suggested you go check it out at your dealership's parts department. Find out what parts are needed and how much they want for them. You can probably get the parts cheaper from some of the online places. After getting prices from your local dealer, check out Lindsay and the other forum dealers. Once you arm yourself with some information you can make your decision.

Just looked at a '08 Audi A6. Guess what? "Homelink" is an option. Only way to get it is with their "premium" package. That combined with a couple of other option packages pushed the sticker to $55K!!

Re: how much will it cost to add

Has any one been successful in adding Home link to their CTS? I'm picking up a CTS in a couple of days and would love to be able to add the universal remote

Re: how much will it cost to add

I was absolutely shocked myself that the Home Link was not available on this car...as said, you'd have to upgrade and purchase the mighty expensive option to have this simple feature. When J.D. Powers and Cadillac Corp. called for a survey on the car, I stressed that this was absolutely ridiculous! A luxury car for this kind of $'s, beautifully accented interior with a cheesy Sears garage door opener remote hanging from my visor Hopefully, they will heed all comments/complaints and include it with the next model year!

That is correct in fact they aren't that expensive. I purchased mine off ebay for as little as $12.50 + $5.00 delivery charge and they're universal in the deville models. I'm not too sure about the CTS, STS and others.

Eric.

Re: how much will it cost to add

My '02 Corvette didn't have Homelink, either - and new, it was more expensive than a CTS. Fortunately, some enterprizing young entrepreneur started selling replacement visors that were a perfect match to the factory visor and tapped into the power source for the vanity mirror lights to power the Homelink. It was ridiculously easy to install and worth the price. Maybe someone will do that with CTS visors, or you can purchase your own Homelink module off eBay and install it wherever you like. Paint it to match, connect power to it and you're in business. I've heard of people connecting them to their lighting circuits so flashing the lights will activate the Homelink module as well.
