All the paperwork was ready and only took a few minutes (Great dealer & salesman). They had it parked right outside the front door. Awesome car! Quietest car I've ever ridden in. Red is prettier than any of the pictures show. Very close to our Mag Red C6. |

I also have a 2005 Mag Red C6 (Z51, six-speed, cashmere interior, both tops, all options but NAV). |

Now that you've experienced the vehicle for a few days, I am interested to hear your initial impressions of the car. Is it measuring up to your expectations? Have there been any 'surprises'? (good, bad or otherwise?).
Cheers

My initial impressions:
This car is very impressive. Very quiet inside. Workmanship is outstanding. The ventilated seats are fantastic and the seating is very comfortable. I find the seats much more comfortable than those in our '04 CTS. Seat travel range is considerably greater than in the 1st gen CTS. There is more legroom in the backseat, even with the front seat all the way back (and in this position, at 6'1" I can barely reach the pedals).
The audio system is also much improved. The ability to time-shift (TIVO like) XM, FM, AM radio broadcasts is pretty wild. Sound quality is much improved.
Handling is very nice. Smooths out the bumps nicely, but still as a good feel of the road. Acceleration (with the 304HP DI) seems very adequate (although I have not pushed it hard as it only has 175 miles at this point). One negative is that the turning radius is not as tight as the 1st gen was. It is only slightly wider, but it is noticeable. |

That interior is so nice! Although I will miss the "tight" turning radius, that is only a minor flaw, in my estimation. If you have an opportunity, could you add a few images of the exterior? I just love the White Diamond color--and I can't get enough of it! Thanks again. |

I certianly agree about the the front seat leg room, but I'm curious about your impression of the rear seat head room (with the sunroof). I found the front seat head room more than adequate, but was disappointed with the rear. (I'm 6 ft.) I'd like to also hear from someone who's been in the '08 without the sunroof for some comparison. |

If I sit up straight, my head does hit. If I slouch slightly I clear the roof. Where our head would normally be positioned, the interior roof actually has more clearance than if you lean forward slightly. Still, it can be a problem for 6 + footers. |

You all might be interested in what I'm planning on selling or trading in for an '08 CTS. I have an '07 Infiniti M45 Sport that I'll be getting rid of soon. For all the awesome reviews, power, handling, and technology that it has...I'm just not in love with it. It just doesn't "do" it for me.
So unless I change my mind after a test drive, which from what I've heard from everyone else probably won't happen, then I'm sure I'll be getting a CTS soon. I hope my expectations aren't too high.

(The C6 isn't too shabby either). ENJOY, and please be sure to let us know your initial impressions of the car over the next few days.
PS. After seeing photos of Zymurgy's CTS, and now yours a couple of days later, I've instantly become a lot more impatient in waiting for mine. 12 weeks have gone by since my order was placed. The B20 issue unfortunately worked very well in delaying my order (as well as all other CTS orders for Canada). Then there was the dealer mess-up in deleting option B20 on my order, which resulted in an additional 2 week delay.
I was advised yesterday the TPW for my car is now Sept. 10th. Who knows, with any luck I just might get my new CTS by Thanksgiving. |

Besides being quiet, the ride is smooth and the brakes are the best I've felt. Haven't hit them hard yet. What I mean is they are so smooth when applied. Some car brakes go from full off to 20% as soon as you touch them. These are very progressive. Make sense? There are some smaller, nice touches. Like the shelf in the glove compartment so it's split into a lower half and an upper half. Everything isn't stacked on top of each other. In the top half of the center console, there is a slot or trough for a pen or pencil. No more rummaging around for something to write with. The third neat touch is the Nav screen. If it's up when you shut the car off, it automatically retracts, and extends automatically when the car is started again. Just looks cool doing it. Another thing, about the wheels. I ordered the painted instead of the polished wheels but wasn't sure they woould be shiny enough next to the rest of the chrome on the car. If they weren't I was going to have them chromed. It's not an issue. So for those of you that are trying to decide between painted or polished, the painted wheels look fine.
Just as I was getting back from tha dealer and pulling into my driveway last night, another forum member, lescts pulls up with his wife in his red C6. So we had two, red C6's and the red CTS in the driveway. He has a red CTS on order also. Funny he lives in the same golf course community as I do.
I'll write more impressions as I get them, and like Zymurgy, I'll be glad to answer questions or take pictures for anyone. |

From what I'm hearing and seeing at the dealerships this week there are so many nice combinations to choose from..
All winners! And that C6 sounds like a hell of a ride too! |

So this red is not really a bright candy apple red? The pictures are small and I can't see your car in closeup but in your opinion, definitely a deeper red than a bright red? Trying just to get a feel for it. Your picture looks different than any other pic of the red CTS that I have seen thus far. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
