I knew cadillac would do this.
the first gen cts you could get every option possible out the door for a little over 40k.
now the new "big draw" items such as awd and the 304hp (and I think necessary) engine puts the pricing of the cts higher than a lot of its competitors. and more than a lot of people would pay for an "entry level" cadillac.
I dread what the price of the cts-v will be, probably around 60-68k
(well the stock all option cts is 40k, the V came with all options plus the doom engine and was about 55k.) and the new V has the 600hp supercharged v-8 6.2L of doom, big money.
that puts it at more than its import competitors.
I might pick and 08 up used off some poor sap that shells out nearly 50k for one.. but I won't be buying one new. hell for that money I can get a g35 with a turbo. |

Thanks. If the Performance Brakes (J55) are included in PDR then the price goes down another $395.00. Sorry for all the corrections - but at least the price is moving in the right direction. Total now - without AWD is:
Total: $47,500.00 for 2008 CTS with virtually every option other than AWD. |

One thing to keep in mind: for the last few months a "Special Bose Edition" has been available that puts the Bose and other options into a zero-cost package. It would be more realistic to compare the 2008 to this car. Why didn't they just make these features standard? Well, the 2008's price now looks better because they did not. That's absurd. |

A $70K Escalade? | The 304 HP version lists for $34,545 plus $745 destination charge. Total $35,290. Load it up and you can reach $47K. But this new CTS is far more refined than the current CTS. Full leather hand-sewn dash, remote start, ultra-sonic backup assist, adaptive forward lighting (headlights turn with steering wheel), etc, etc. |

I think they're saving that for the V model. |

I'm not totally sure though. |

OK, it may not be leather. But it is cut and sewn and wrapped by hand.
Some additional new features: Passive vehicle and trunk entry - the fob just needs to be nearby, no buttons to push; Keyless ignition; heated windshield washer system; power rake and telescoping steering column. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
