2008 CTS Prices Released

Am I correct that you can option the 2008 CTS (non-v) "up" to more than $11,000.00 more than the 2007 model (at its' highest trim level)?

So let's say I want a base automatic with 18" wheels, heated seats, sunroof, white diamond, and stereo upgrade...looks like I'd have to pony up $40,755 if done separately. I could do the PDR (18" + Seating pkg) and save $500. Still, seems much more expensive than a comparable outgoing model when factoring in options! Do I smell REBATES?

Well - it looks to me like:
2008 CTS /3.6L DI $34,545
PDQ $ 8,165
Y43w/PDQ $ 2,430
Total $45,140

And the only other significant option would be
AWD - at another $1,900.

How do you arrive at $50K?

By my reading of the Order Guide, the AWD option is $1,900 on the 6DP69 = 3.6L V6 w/DI & w/Automatic. So AWD total would be $45,140 + $1,900 = $47,040.

True – so that would bring it to $48K.

Y43 includes: (P63) 18" x 8" (45.7 cm x 20.3 cm) aluminum wheels with high-polished finish’

So - $48K – not quite $50K.

Not cheap, I will agree . . .


I suppose that GM would point to a new ( and presumably better ) chassis, improved interior, more HP, more TQ, the 6 speed automatic, etc. to ‘justify’ the rise in MSRP. Whether or not any of that is ‘worth it’ to any particular buyer is an open question, certainly. And I did not think that the 2007 was available with AWD??? Near $2K of the ‘difference’ . . .

Automatic is standard with the DI engine. You get a $1300 credit for the manual.

No, a fully loaded 2008 (6DP69 - 304 HP with Automatic, PDQ - Luxury Collection, 98U - Premium Paint and Y43 - Summer Tire Performance Pkg) totals $46,880 including destination charge of $745. Only "options" left out is the compact spare ($250) and AWD ($1900).

Looks like I was using the wrong Tire Performance package so it is closer to $49K than $51K ($48,645.00). Don't get me wrong, I think the new model is worth every penny - just thought an $8K increase was significant (vs. MSRP of 2007 w/options).

$47,895.00 or approx $48K. Well worth the price - IMHO.
