Well, not intending to pile on too much, but I've got to agree that these mesh grills really cheapen the look of the car. I really like the mesh grill on the previous gen V. On our new body style, I just haven't seen a mesh grill (including the new V, for that matter) that doesn't detract from the face of the car. Perhaps if the mesh level was somewhat recessed instead of being flush with the rest of the front of the car.

I went to a technical high school. And I'd rather have a freshman at Metal Fab make me up a grille than buy one of those. Absolutely hideous...no offense...

And I thought Jim would get one of these to go with his Blue Neon.... Behind the grille Jim, think about it.

I really like the plain OEM '08+ CTS Grille. It's so large though that the mesh style '04-'07 CTS-V style grill doesn't look right IMHO.

A potnetial melding of the two might be a first gen Sport grille style. That might look nice on an '08+.

My thought is to remove the plastic gray honeycomb behind my OEM grille, and replace it with some stainless steel mesh.

Yeah, someone posted pics just recently of a mesh grille behind stock looking CTS bars, very much like the previous CTS Sport. Looked pretty good...

That asanti with black mesh is just begging for an Optimus Prime transformer logo!

Re: Asanti And Trex Grilles Now For 2008 Cts

I bought the fog light inserts you see here - the instructions were 2 steps (Insert, tighter nuts) which was bull, you have to drill, and my instructions say 07-08 cts, but I purchased the 08 and up part # tx-55198. THere is a very dark picture on the instructions that you cannot tell what it is. Also says to "reach behind and tighten the nuts...you cannot reach behind the fog light area without taking stuff apart.
Now I have to either call and see if I have the right part, or drill and risk ruining my cts.
