If anyone has experience with installing cams, I'd love to here from you. I'd like to get my hands on a set in the Spring and try the install myself. As long as I take my time, I'm fairly confident in my skills. I'm sure I can find videos/walkthroughs, but first hand experience is always a plus.
Installing 4 cams in a DOHC motor is a long slow labor intensive process. You heard SC1250 mention 2-3 days. And they have done it before. Double or triple that if you are doing it for the first time. Mostly hand tools tho.. Front end and top end of motor comes apart. Tricky part is putting it back together and getting the timing chains installed with all 4 cams and the crank properly aligned, and on the compression stroke. Next slow part is doing a valve adjustment procedure on 24 valves, mostly likely with a feeler guage and replacing shims, and rotating the motor slowly. Last motor I did this way needed special tools to hold the valves open while removing shims and different size replacement shims. Haven't looked at the valve adjustment method on the 3.6 LLT yet, but on any DOHC there is hardly any other way of designing the valve adjustment. Then pop on the valve covers and intake and you are almost done!! :-) Easy right?
