    Looks like time for a catch can

    I opened the intake to see what I find since my car has never had a catch can. The initial view in photos was enough to tell me I need one.

    Also got the scope down to the valves. It doesn't have the best view, but it's enough to see I need to address the carbon buildup.

    Tough to see the valves, but it was carbonized.

    Yea, the scope has 4 small LED lights, but they're not the brightest, especially when everything down there is covered in black soot and carbon. Next time I have the top off, I plan on shining an external light source in there to see better. Just kicking myself for not thinking of doing that the first time.

    Local Lexus dealer has the machine shop we use for boring doing under warranty manual dissasembly and cleaning and they want a demonstration of the RX can.
